Great job...I wish my 1st weathering job came out so well!!

Have  thought about ways to add steam effects? Except for it pulling a load of pancakes, I  have thought it was the real deal almost.

Wonderful job, outstanding attention to detail and color blending.   Whether that was your first attempt or 21st attempt it's a great job.    Appreciate the notes and details in the original post, do you remember what color "Brown" you initially sprayed on and "removed with alcohol" ?

FANTASTIC  GREAT WORK  !!!!!!

CHRIS A - I used Revell acrylics (Aqua Color) and mixed mostly "Leather Brown RAL 8027" with some  "Anthracite Grey" and "Sand". I'd say the only objective was to get a not too dark brown that reflects the more lighter colored dust of the great planes. I sprayed it on well thinned with an airbrush and built up the dust more towards the tracks and in corners. The Drivers were sprayed while moving the frame back an forth. 

ENGINEER-JOE - yes, it's a plain HO kit at work. The only tricky thing is to avoid any contact of the cord with the draft gear box - the back side was filed out and the motor positioned carefully until the cord could move freely. I used a little socket of styrene stock to support the motor that was simply glued down with CA.

Your knowledge and modeling skills are just unbelievable. What is even more surprising is you're in Austria!

Wow, I used to own a Sunset 3Rd Rail UP 9000 but it never looked that good even after I had it weathered.  Makes me want to buy another one that is on ebay. 

I wish I didn't see your efforts; trying not to buy any more trains.
