The RCT&HS has amassed an extensive collection of former Reading Company equipment and, over the years, has successfully restored a number of pieces to operating condition. The society's Motive Power & Rolling Equipment Department has developed a web-based newsletter titled "Shop Talk" in which it provides updates of maintenance and restoration activities. Highlighted in the current issue is the renewal of the electrical system of the 103, an NW2 built in 1947. The article provides great insight into the intracacies of the electrical system of a vintage diesel locomotive. Other projects, including the restoration of the Camelback tender which became part of the Reading's fire train, are discussed as well. All in all, very much worth the time invested to read it.
