What type of toggle switch and leds would I need to use with a dz1000 ? Also I need a wiring diagram for this.

Use a SPDT spring return switch. Power goes to the switch machine center terminal. 2 wires from the machine go to the outside contacts of the switch. Common (return) goes to the center terminal. For leds use whatever colors you want. Wire a 1000 ohm resistor in series with each one. Put a diode in parallel with the resistor - led pair. The longer lead on the led is +. The banded end on the diode is also +. They go together. If they don't work, reverse the leads end for end. Sounds more complicated than it is.
You might want to look into the DZ controllers, to avoid having to buy and assemble parts.
