Is there any reason that an OTC contractor, instead of an RCS or UCS remote track section, can't be used to operate the modern milk car ?

They will work fine for a milk car, just remember you will need 2, spaced the correct distance apart, and wired correctly.
The other thing to mention, is will they both clear the platform base?
Thanks Chuck. The reason I ask is that I would like to operate the milk car, independent of track power, from throttle "B" on my ZW transformer. Track power is throttle "D".
You can still do that with an RCS or UCS track. Very simple wiring.
Disconnect the number 3 wire from controller to the RCS/UCS track. This is the power input from the track. Now connect the number 3 wire you just disconnected to the B post on you transformer. The B throttle will now control the power to the uncoupling magnet and control rails. There will be nothing connected to the #3 terminal pad on the track.
Thanks again Chuck.
