One interesting aspect of model railroading is the interface of our favorite mode of transportation with the competition, be it trucks/buses/automobiles, airplanes or boats/ships.

The Rockford O Scalers layout features many "Steam to Diesel Transition" period automobiles, trucks and buses which we believe enhance the overall realism of the layout. When it comes to water we have modeled a river/bridge scene and a few other small streams here and there. We currently have no aircraft interfaces on the layout.

Recently someone sent us a photo of a 1/48 scale container ship model that Maersk Line had created for display purposes. After seeing this, we have decided to forgo any consideration of modeling a modern intermodal container facility!!!
