Guys-
Many Railroads in the past and today had/have special Veteran Units. For example the BN had the SD60 "Screaming Eagle" and the UP had the Operation Desert Storm SD40-2. Today we see NS having a Veterans Unit and of course Amtrak having their Veteran Unit.
Many railroads seem to be preferred by some ex-military as a career. UP and even BNSF touts how they are friendly to Veterans. I've read online that many Veterans at NS support and are thrilled to have a Veterans Unit.
That said, for CSX and BNSF is there a reason why they won't do a Veterans themed locomotive? I'm surprised because many parts of the country hold Veterans in high esteem and offer discounts, welcome them proudly, etc... I would also think this would be a PR coup especially for a railroad touting itself as friendly to military Veterans.
Thoughts?
