I have a vision line 2-10-10-2 I got it from a friend of mine after I trade him my original GS4 legacy daylight and 21" cars after running it there are problems that need to be addressed first the sensor for the sensor track in the tender stopped working the ir sensor between the cab and tender has a broken wire I knew this and have a piece of tape after he put it back on, The 2 front marker lights stopped working the rear coupler will not stay closed and now I lost the whistle I looked up the parts and they are 50$, So my question is should I keep it fix it or get rid of it as is

Depends on if you think you think its a "keeper" or not. Do you run it and enjoy it?

Marker lamps are easy to fix. Sensor wire is a splice, and the coupler can be replaced ... very easy fixes.

I have one, and I love it.  Crying shame they never really made some rolling stock to go with this...

It runs and runs well I want to get everything working as if it was new I agree I wish they would have made cars for this, But most of all I wish lionel would go back to making locomotives like this, Something different and exciting

hmm, I have an extra GS4 cab no. 4444 ... which 21"cars are you looking for? Kline?

But honestly, keep it and run it. the fixes as you describe are easy.

If I lived closer I could have her back together in an hour.

sometimes the connector comes off on the front marker lamps... try that first.

The coupler... I have extras... but glue it shut with super glue until you get the new one.

And the sensor wire ... just splice and solder until the new wire harness comes in.

You and me both on the NEW locomotives... but I have to say the advent of the HYBRID promises a new horizon.

You have a point I love the sound and it looks great but I got rid of all my "issue" locomotives because I just did not have the time to fix them, So that is the dilemma I am facing  with. So I have to keep thinking about it, As for the daylight looking for the legacy Daylight and the lionel 21" cars if someone wanted to trade for it, they may sway me that way
