I having trouble with my Visionline Big Boy 4000 #2331261 & Black/Grey with Yellow UP 844 2431270 I bought these locomotives from Charles RO. The locomotives ran great when I got them but now nothing works as it did before. I have hit the aux 1 and the reset button with no luck restoring the locomotive to factory setting.  I returned home from a 4 week vacation and went to run my trains. When I turned on the transformer both locomotives started right up without hitting the start-up button on the cab-2 remote. I can't get either engine to run I have no control over either locomotive I can't ring the bell sound the horn or open the rear coupler. I can't move the train in either direction. All the smoke units work. I haven't tried  the factory reset because I can't locate my manual for the Big Boy. I anyone has the reset number I would appreciate it if you would send it to me. I'm at a lose for what to next to get these locomotives running like the should. I could send them back to Lionel but I worded about shipping damage or getting lot. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Like above I suspect the Base or it's connection to the layout to be more suspect.

BTW to reset the Big Boy.  And here is the Manual Link.

If your VISION Big Boy is unresponsive to your commands in the Command Control environment, we recommend that you follow this procedure to reset your locomotive. All factory default settings will be restored when you reprogram the locomotive.

1. Slide the program-run switch to the PGM position.

2. Plug in and connect your LEGACY Base.

3. Place your locomotive and tender on the track, then power up the track.

4. Press ENG and enter the locomotive’s ID#.

5. Press SET.

6. Press and hold the RESET button (or 0) until you hear a single bell ding. This may take up to 10 seconds.

7. At this point, your locomotive has been reset to ID 1. Be sure to re-enter your original ID# and press SET once more if you wish to continue using your original ID#.

8. Slide the program-run switch back to the RUN position and operate the locomotive as usual.
