I am trying to map out my yard area and am looking for inspiration. I need a place for passenger trains to unload, classification of cars, ready track and miscellaneous like caboose track and maybe two waiting tracks for locos.

Mine is strictly a Service Yard [unfinished] on a small 9x16 layout and little help for aiding your objectives.
Towers: Switch, Sand, Diesel Fuel, Coaling, Water, Ash/Cinder Lift [Dave Duhumel's not shown] and Engine House.
The diagonal track leading to the coaling and other service towers is also the enter/exit track for the yard via 072/084 curved turnouts on the inner mainline.
Here is my yard today. Just finished shoveling snow and am about to work on the layout for a while... Wooo Hooo!
Our coach yard and the main freight yard, the "60 Yard" (holds 60 cars), and the adjacent "A" Yard, the three-track inbound/outbound yard for making up and breaking down freights. Also a pic of the diesel/electric storage tracks next to the Diesel/Electrics Shop.
Thanks for the pictures. Alan this gives me a better idea of the scope of your layout.
Getting snowed in up here, time to log off work and head down to my layout for some quite time!
Ron045 beat me too it! Some nice train yard pics though! Great work!
