Well...I have finally gotten back to a corner on the layout that has been off the project list for 3 years!  So...last weekend and this I have been finishing the rockwork on "Great Bluff" and creating not only base areas for the concrete bridge supports but creating a waterfall which will come from a "cave" opening at the top of the bluff.  There is a lot to do but this morning I mounted the waterfall which when complete will be about 2 feet tall.  The fall will terminate into a river/stream bed which you can see will be going between two of the concrete bridge supports.  The plan of course will be to have a lot of vegetation growing on the rock bluff as well as trees, etc.  I put the pine trees in just to get an idea of what they would look like but they are too "perfect"...got them at Wally World at the end of Christmas for 50 cents a piece so I may do some hacking on them and take them off of their "snow" bases.  Anyway, thought you would like to follow the project as I will be making updates over the next couple of weeks...

As always I appreciate you taking time to look and making comments...

Thanks so much,

Alan

Thank you Matt!!....those support piers are made from composite trim and are just glued together.  The "seams" between the pieces almost looks like concrete pours...worked out pretty good and it was fast!

Thanks!....I am going to do the same thing to those trees plus ad a variety of other "plantings" to the scene...

This is a great start! And I am so glad you posted these pictures of the project in the raw, before any of the 'scenic enhancements' you will skillfully add. I (all of us) now are anxiously waiting to see the finished project, which is bound to be astonishing.

Thank you for sharing!

A one two punch. The refinery and now this. What a weekend!!!!!  Not to be a critic but, As suggestion the use of a bigger foot bridge would be in order as the gap is not wide enough to support the water flow without backing up and water going around and under the bridge ( Note the width of the waterfall and the opening under the bridge).

I recognized the material. It's great for O scale Art Deco trim. Inexpensive and easy to work with. Used similar material on a bridge and viaduct at the club.
