It came in the mail today and I'll say that I'm super impressed by this 'motor'. Picking it up from the post office, my thoughts were that there was a ton of packaging as the box was very heavy... Nope, the locomotive is a heavy monster. 3.63 kg which equates to roughly 13 pounds. Wow. Read the destructions which were short and sweet, lubed it up and proceeded to try and run it with my CW80. Mistake #1. I had to pull my ZW from storage to run it properly. Overall, I'm very happy with the fit/finish of the thing. The pantograph insulators were the only thing to give me any sort of trouble and after a few dabs of superglue on the metal frames of the pantographs, that problem was solved. This locomotive is extremely smooth running, will pull the world off its axis, the horn and bell are quite good and the flywheel "coast" to a stop is nice and smooth.

10/10. It's not the prototype and it's not scale but for me, it's an awesome purchase. Very happy.

It's just amazing... I'm at a loss for words, but every tiny little detail is there. I guess I'm kinda entering the "big leauges" now in terms of details. Vents, number boards, microscript, marker lighting... Very cool

Congrats on your purchase - it is a nice engine!  We have the Girls' version as well and are quite pleased with it.  It has great heft, has good built-in details, and the paint work is well done.

I haven't had to superglue the pantographs (though that's not a bad idea), but we did make a couple mods of our own - one of which was to cut acetate sheets and glue them in place to add "glass" to the cab windows.

Now only if they'd make a stripped down semi-scale T-1!

Dustin: That's really cool. seems to be the one detail they kinda missed.
