Set some of those Gang Cars in Forward; the others, in Reverse. Put them on the same track and turn on the juice.

That happened in the early 1950's at Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal aka Union Station. The brakes failed and it slowly ran off the stub-end tracks through the retaining wall on Aliso Street (now the 101 freeway downtown.) The retaining wall was repaired and is still there.
That shot was taken from the West. One of the classic "oops" moments. Unfortunately, that wouldn't be the last ATSF incident at/near LAUPT. A few years later a pair of full RDC's headed for San Diego rolled over about a mile out of the terminal, killing 30 and injuring everyone else on board.
Alex & Matt I bet the crew had fun getting out of the cab
Matt,
Thank you for the details!
Wasn't there a spectacular crash at the end of the movie "The Silver Streak"? It has been a long time, but IIRC, the passenger train ran through the station. Maybe I'll look for that movie again.
Bill,
". . . fun getting out of the cab."
(& Matt) I wonder if there were any 'electrocution' risks?

Hello Everyone,
Here are a couple of pieces of refinery process equipment. The models are in G-Scale and being sent to a mid-west refinery. The horizontal vessels are crude oil de-salters and the vertical vessel is a distillation tower.

Alan VERY NICE WORK.
How long should we run our Shell Oil Refinery before we shut down for a major overhaul.
Bill,
You should get about two years out of it. After that, we will have to do some modifications.
Alan
Very nice Alan!!

Beautiful photo of your layout Marty.
I have opted to put an extension on my layout. A small one, but it nearly doubles the length of the main line. Just a week into the entire project and have gotten pretty far along thanks to a relatively quiet week in the salt mines...sadly this was the most relaxed and quiet one for a couple more weeks!!!
Picked up some buildings today, seen on a test fit below. Track is fully ballasted and operational.

Marty wonderful picture of your layout.

Steve , really nice !!

Marty....beautiful overall view of your layout....always enjoy seeing your pictures!
Thanks,
Alan
Spent a little time working on my other hobby this week on my lunch hour. I do a lot of photography and shooting train stuff is one of my favorite subjects.
Here is the old New Haven MI depot on a rainy day.

Yesterday, the Pittsburgh Independent Hi-Railers were set up and running in Latrobe, PA as part of the annual layout tour organized by the Ligonier Valley Railroad Museum as part of its fund-raising efforts.
In honor of our hosts, I brought along a couple of custom-run Weaver Ligonier Valley hoppers that I bought at the museum a few years back.
The museum is located next to Idlewild Park, so this custom-run MTH Idlewild gondola was also a natural to run for this event.
Other regional cars also were on hand, including this MTH modern reefer featuring my favorite brewery.
Lots of steam was running throughout the day...
As were some diesels...
And some GG1's...
And some interesting scenes were captured, too. You would think that the police would know where not to park.
It was a fun day. The only down side to this event is that we don't get to go on the tour. But we still had a lot of fun, anyway!
