Zebra stripes and 2 rail track - Hello Howard,
Here'e a shot from our old layout of our R.O.W. D&H Brass PA set. I always liked that the body was an unusual color to simulate stainless steel on the prototype. Were the real ones ever that clean to show this to great effect?
Pretty good sound (QSI?) that featured that distinctive 'alco bark' and a great horn. Also note the nice lighting (center over the windshield, number boards, side number panels, and rear of the trailing A unit - last photo) that was pretty advanced when these were released back in the early 1990s...
Happy Fathers Day all! And thanks for all the great photos!
Walt, Yeungling Ice Cream ... Is that like a beer float?
Well,
My daughter Amy continues the Train "training" of my grandson Nolan. Amy recently instructed Nolan on turn tables and round house operations while in Savanna, GA.
Happy Father's day to all us Dads.

Steve - Your correct, it is an Atlas SW. The ATSF Zebra came out around 1999 and I've been chasing one down for at least 10 years. I finally got one this week! Very nice engine. Instead of a cab light, it has lighted gauges, pretty neat.
Howard
Richard,
Here's a picture of the Savannah Roundhouse in 1970. I was shocked when I walked inside and found a steam engine. I'm glad they were able preserve that area.

Al,
The pictures of the layout look great.

Some pictures of last week-end Burgdorf (Switzerland) show..this good size show is held every 2 years for 3 days ( Pentecost long week-end).
....
A splendid wooden model in 1:11 of the 1938 CP 4-4-4 "Jubilee"...except for a few metal screws and the motor/ drivetrain (in the tender)..it's all wood.
...
Was a great show, fairly low in attendance..at least for the 3 hours I was there.
Wow, cool stuff. I like the Jubilee. It looks a lot like an old Marx locomotive!
What ever became of the steam engine? Was it saved?
You can somewhat see it's outline in the stall to the right of the Southern box car. About 5 or 6 years ago I read that it had been saved. As I remember, it is one of the engines still on the property.
HAPPY FATHERS' DAY.
One of the "Big ones that got away" was captured last week. Back in 2009, I bought my first scale-wheels MTH diesels -- a pair of U25B's in ATSF livery. I kept kicking myself because I didn't get all three road numbers. Well, another unit came up at a very good price -- brand new yet. Unfortunately, it was a duplicate road number. I bought it anyway since I had been successful at re-numbering, so this will get the number-change treatment and weathering to match the two lead units. Here's a screen capture running it yesterday at the club.

56F100,
Tell us more about the Roundhouse. I have not had a chance to talk to my daughter since she sent the picture. It looks to be somewhat restored. I may have to see it one of these days. Our last roundhouse in the Memphis area, the old IC one at Johnson Yard was torn down a while back by CN and I never had a chance to see it.
Thanks for posting thhe additioal picture.

For anyone who pre-ordered a set of these, here is a teaser for you! Painting of the models starts in a few weeks.
That's exciting Jonathan, nice work!
Lafondue,
Thank you for your time & effort to take & post these pictures. I love modern Intermodal models & I would like to buy one of those container cars. Would you know more about that Creanorm container car? I went through their website but it was not in English. I used Google Translator to translate some of the information.
Could you please find out when it would be available for purchase?
Also I assume the price was in Swiss Francs (CHF). Is 389 CHF ($432) a typical price for a freight car in 1:45 scale?
I see a lot of separately added details on this car. Is the car made of plastic, die-cast or brass?
I would appreciate any information you could provide.
Thanks,
Naveen Rajan
Since I've been sharing these. Here is the latest progress. These are in production now. Working on finishing the last of the painting diagram corrections and then assembling color samples. Now the fun really begins.. waiting for sample painted models to review. Many thanks to Scott for permission to share these images. The input I receive back is very helpful. Thank you to everyone whose helped with a comment here and there. I already caught one mistake on this drawing
