Waiting for the youth group to come in this morning and I ran my Lionmaster big boy with a mixture of Box cars and Reefers made by KMT, Menards, K-Line, MTH and CMP. 45 cars in total.
Nice consist, Tim......

Hey OG3RAIL:
These are nice pics. If you don't mind sharing, what is the source of the chain link fence shown in the picture above?
Thanks in advance,
Steven J. Serenska
Thanks Steven,
The chain link fence is from Dept. 56 I cut the bases off with a Dremel tool.
Picked up some new toy's at the LCCA convention this week.
Nice purchases, Chris. I liked the TS set from the time it was first announced.
Ran out of lichen but got the carpet down, buildings just roughed into place. I may not keep the rotary beacon up there...we'll see. I may move it to another spot on the layout where there aren't any tall structures. Here I have the tunnel, elevated loop, 7 story office, etc. Lots of height in a small area.

Thanks Brian. I didn't give it much of a look when it first came out but when I saw it in person it just followed me home! The LCCA and Lionel did a beautiful job on it!

Well, no model railroad pictures today, but I can offer a video of some real trains! My dad and I just returned from a very fun trip to the Middle Division, along with a brief stay near the NS Southern Tier. Although we did not see much on the Southern Tier, the Middle Division was exceptionally busy. I will have to count them, but I would guess I took video of around 30 trains over the course of the trip!
We also railfanned the Middle Division on our way home from New York, that video should be up within the next day or two.
Just picked up my Menards produced Chicago Fire Department ambulance! Don't tell the Menards folks, but at $8 this is a great deal!! Now I have a complete set of Modern Chicago Police and Fire units. I have a Chicago Police Ford Explorer and a Chicago Fire Truck in Jack Pearce's legendary work shop. Looking forward to getting all the lights fired up for a big show!
The other photos are of the new Amtrak baggage cars which have been packing the Chicago yard. I also included a shot of the old baggage cars soon to be retired. Here's to hoping one of the manufactures produces the new cars!

Here's a minion up to some mischief:
...and here's a few pics of the houseboat I'm currently building. The Busted Flush still has a bunch of work yet to be done, but the parts are finally starting to come together. This is my kitbashiest project yet, with parts from a rail barge, plasticville mobile homes, a PT boat, and a VW bus.

Well with the tour de France ending today I thought I'd get out the winning yellow jersey.Just in Chris Froome has done it & won it for us Brits!
Wow, I guess this is "nice chain link fence" weekend. I think the above looks great.
30thStreet, if you also don't mind sharing, what is the source of the chain link fence shown in the picture above? I'm trying to gather ideas for my layout.
Thanks in advance,

Enjoyed the video very much Steven. I travel through Port Royal and around Duncanon for work from time to time. When traveling along Rt. 322, I usually spot a train or two from across the river. Use to travel through Mount Union and Huntington a lot a couple of years ago for work and would see several trains between those two towns.
Done a quite a bit of rail fanning at Horse Curve and Gallitzin, but have not yet where you shot this video.
Will be looking forward to seeing the next video soon.
Lots of terrific photos this week - thanks!.....
I was a couple minutes late getting us to the shop yesterday and there were families waiting for us to open up and run trains. By 10:30, it was crowded. Mrs Muffin says she stopped counting at 60 as they were coming in the door - the muffins held out until at least 11 - and I know we didn't get lunch!
Here's a video we shot yesterday afternoon showing some of the trains we had running. Two of our guests were running two of the trains and one young man kept uncoupling his load - made things interesting seven feet up!

I did a little bit more work on it today... added some trim, decking, interior lighting, etc. Just a few bits to go and this one is done!

Looks like more of a houseboat, but that's OK, very nice model.
And one more video to close off the weekend! This was shot two days later when we were on our way home from New York State. Enjoy!
Thanks!

I agree with N&W Class J. That's really, really clever, Frizzinbee, and it looks great, too!

About to head on vacation to PA& NJ tomorrow so not much going on. Did get the new layout table up. Just waiting on some track & buildings to arrive before I finalize things, track plan wise.
Did pick up some more motive power -
NS Monongahela ES44AC
& another GP38-2
Set 2120WS taking a spin around the main line-
More 611 shots - All from July 4th -
The 611 heads northbound out of Roanoke as it passes through Bonsack, VA -
611 is at track speed as she steams past the Nester Road crossing in Thaxton, VA -
Passing through Bedford, VA pulling the morning excursion to Lynchburg -
N&W 611 ducks under the N&W signal bridge at Webster as she heads back to Roanoke-
611 works upgrade as she passes picturesque Shawsville, VAfter 611 passed & the masses cleared out, NS 217 heads westbound through Shawsville, VA on the Christiasnburg District.
Some from the old PRR Middle Division - Taken last week -
NS Dash-8 8363 (ex CR 6133) rolls westbound through CP CANNON as a friendly wave is exchanged between fans & crew-
NS 20R heads eastbound over Sherman's Creek with D9-44CW 9897 leading-
NS & UP GE motors lead westbound 21A through Mexico, PA -
Beautiful shots Chris, I just returned two days ago, but I am already getting Middle Division fever from this!
Ray.
Ray,
I have yet to find an O-scale outboard. This particular houseboat should have twin Hercules inboard motors... so I'm making the assumption that they are there, and the props are tucked below the waterline.

PTC,
You got it, houseboat . The Busted Flush is the fictional home of a 60s-80s era detective... err, salvage consultant... who will be added to my layout. He's the second of three planned fictional detectives (the other 2 being Shawn Spencer and Isaac Bell).

Frank,
Thanks! I really appreciate the compliment. Certainly took me a while to figure out how to piece this one together, but I'm very pleased with how it came out. Just need to add the stairs to the top side, and I have some lounge chairs on the way.

"Nice! I love the party barge."
Some folks call this a party barge. This did got me thinking, since we have a large waterfront area, a model of this would be really neat on our layout.

I bought one of these for the Hummer, but the boat has twin outboards. Might find one cheaper if you hunt around. But here is a link for one
We had a session last night running trains and a friend of ours brought his new MTH Premier E-6 ABBA set with passenger cars to run about - here are some short videos of his train on our layout....
Fine looking train, and your layout enhances it..
