Picked this up from the bay last weekend for next to nothing - It's a repainted Lionel # 600.
I added some decals to the frame & body & painted the handrails to try & match a real Southern NW2. I just have to install lights. I think it looks awesome & it runs great too!

Nice catch Chris!  'Looks like your layout is coming along fine too...

Jim, I always like seeing the modifications and repaints that members do to the MTH Granary.  Your color choice is incredible and the water wheel is a nice touch...great scene.

Jim,

Very nice. Why don't you come and help me with my layout. With the way you do scenery we could have my layout done in a couple of weeks.

Thanks, Keith.

It was really a fun project.

Bill, Had to get some new scenery in to give you a reason for a return visit!

Alan, it is a Hyster Challenger 800...made by Corgi (1/50 scale?).  I see these frequently on eBay(Great Britain). Mine is yellow, but I have also seen then in two-tone blue/white.  It came with a small container with odd openings in the top...that was for the a sliding part to grab and pick up the container.  I removed the whole sliding mechanism, added length the the forks and installed tiny magnets, to hold my containers.

Here is a photo before painting the added parts...you can see the magnets on the forklift and on this shortened container...

Well, the Apprentice is getting ready for school to start and has taken a leave from the club for some school projects. A couple of weeks ago, I gave him a spare UP Excess Height box car to see what he could do with it. He spotted a prototype and wondered if he could duplicate the grafitti.

Hey Wyatt;

How about posting a tutorial on how you wired everything up?  That would be a neat addition to any layout to be able turn command control on and off just by flipping a toggle switch.

It's not necessary to wire anything special to turn DCS on or off. All that's necessary is to press:

Menu/System/DCS Setup and soft key "AOF"

To turn DCS back on, press:

Menu/System/DCS Setup and soft key "AON"

This and a whole lot more is all in "The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition", now available for purchase as an eBook or a printed book from MTH's web store site! Click on the link below to go to MTH's web page for the book!

This is a great edition of Weekend Photo Fun everyone.

Keith how did you apply/install the magnets on the containers.  I have a similar fork lift and lifting rig manufactured by JOAL from several years ago and would like to use it with containers other than the not to scale 20 footer that it came with.

kepp up the good work folks and tjhank you for sharing your ideas and your talent.

I think I prefer using the Legacy handset, a bit easier to use, in my opinion.

That's a beauty Dave, thanks for posting.

How quickly are you able to have things delivered 'down there'?

Hi Ken,  I'm still going to do it.  I had several side projects that will be for the structure.  Lately, I've been working on some sign ideas for the buildings and cutting more windows.  Eventually I want to have one more building involved, but here is the steelworks set together.

Is that a Weaver trailer you have hooked up to that Matchbox Mack B-61?  I have one like it and would like a trailer for it.  I also have an Athearn Ford C and would like to get a trailer for that as well.Originally Posted by DL&W Pete:

56f100,

yes it is a weaver trailer, weaver is selling undecorated trailers now. I just painted it silver and removed the landing gear for the B61. as for the ford C8000 tractor, I need to enlarge the whole on the fifth wheel plate to accept the kingpin from the weaver trailer. I have another weaver trailer that will go to the C8000.

Sam, it all depends how it comes. USPS Priority is never quicker than 2 weeks, often more, as they tend to lose things regularly these days, but by Fedex, it's usually 4-5 days. This came by Fedex, and my usual shipments for my store do too, I've had no problem with them, and my local Fedex delivery man is very reliable.
