The CBS Railroad just out shopped ex Santa Fe SD40-2,  The CBS Railroad is owned by the BNSF, UP, and KCS Railroads and CBS has to purchase all engines/cars from the parent railroads.  All equipment purchased is to be keep in the parent railroads colors, that was no problem when all the engines were black steam engines. Ex Santa Fe SD40-2 #4997 came to the CBS Railroad in standard blue/yellow Santa Fe paint but the engine had bad fire damaged paint from a engine fire.  #4997 has painted to match the red and silver FP45 that the CBS railroad owns for use on the CBS's fast freights.

The shop also installed a A/C unit on the cab of #4997.CIMG3123

The underframes with trucks on the MTH auto carriers all have the same number of screw holes to hold them in place. That allowed me to swap the underframes with trucks from recently produced auto carriers with the ones of older production auto carriers so they all match when coupled together. The Deep Blue Grand Trunk Western auto carrier has had the frame swapped so it matches the bright blue GT auto carrier on a TTX flat car.

Work took me to St Louis this week among other places. Here's a few shots from the NS St. Louis yard and of the TRRA bringing in their interchange freight (Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis).

I love that TRRA paint scheme and think it would make a sharp model of no one has done it already.

Also ran into a coworker of mine (and some would say co-conspirator) and gave him his NS First Responders model. He came dressed for the occasion.

Just pure fun.......I don't care if the newsman is 9' tall!

Christmas present 1959......thanks Mom and Dad!

All I can think of when you said "I don't care if the newsman is 9' tall!" is Men In Black scene where you first meet Frank the pug.   If it wouldn't ruin the orginality of the piece I'd put a little pug up there on the counter and two men in black suits out front!  Ha ha.
