We just recently got back from our vacation to Washington DC and New York City (from California).  We went to DC to visit our daughter, who lives there.  I was able to snap the following:

1.  Washington DC Metro

2.  Washington Union Station (a 5 am when we were catching a bus to NYC)

3.  Some misc. pics of PRR historical markers of the old PRR "Navy Yard."  It was      apparently a PRR rail yard at the old Washington Navy Yard.

Enjoy!

RT, the outdoor layout is at Ken Kelley's beautiful home in Santa Ynez. He hosts many events (car/motorcycles clubs and such) through the summer to see his outdoor and indoor layout and his top notch prewar collection and has run days for us nuts. You need to come up sometime. I'll let you know his next event.

There was a discussion this week about PS2 2-bay covered hoppers. I decided to dust of my collection of them (OK, 27 out of 30) and bring them down to the club.

The first group is Jack Frost Sugar (2 MTH/3 Weaver) followed by two three-car Weaver sets of Wayne Feeds, then Bakelite Plastics (2 MTH/3 Weaver) , followed by two Weaver  Santa Fe's, then a 3-car Weaver set of International Harvester, and two 3-car Weaver sets of Beacon Feeds. The train ran nicely with two powered units up front. However, the lead AC4400 went south on me later in the run. I'll take it apart this week and see if I can find something.

Also got to test run a 2-rail Sunset ATSF 44-tonner I picked up from Bob Heil at a good price, much to the delight of "the Apprentice" who managed to scrounge up a DC transformer.
