Great train show today in Mebane, NC. Bought a dock switcher and three Weyerhaeuser log dump cars (all new in the boxes) for $40 from a man who was selling off his stock. When he told me the price I thought he meant each but he said, "No, I'm tired of hauling them around."

The joys of an actual personal interaction. Enjoy your great find.
WOW, Great!
That's the best type of deal at a show!
Went to a train show with no intention of buying
Said no one ever!
Nice find. Those 060 docksiders are greal little engines. Enjoy the set.
holy cow..............good for you!
and I totally agree with Scotties' comment! That's what makes York so fun!
I like that line "I had no intention of buying anything". Doesn't work with my wife however. Awesome bargain though.
Nice score! I go not intending to buy all the time, but I can be persuaded if the price is right.
I will have to remember the show. I will be moving to the Raleigh area in two months to stay with my son. I will have to get dialed in on what goes on there in the area. Any info would be appreciated.
That is a real good find. Congrats! I have that engine up and running now. It is a smooth runner and good puller. I added the Moe and Joe lumber car to unload some of that wood.
There are often some of us who go to a show to sell only when we want to "clean house" and will have lots of things WAY below "standard market prices." I've heard that those of us who may do that are "looked down upon" by the other sellers. My advice to them? Buy my stuff and re-sell it yourself! LOL
Did you buy some mega-ball LOTTO tickets on the way home?
Nice score, $10 each you just had to buy em!
That is a great deal. I've had the nice fortune of running into sellers like that at our local show too. One guy was leaving three rail for two rail and sold tables full of premier freight cars for $20-$30 each. It makes it fun and those sellers are typically very nice to deal with, heck they even will have a good conversation with you about their new plans.
Thats what makes the shows so much fun!
Good score, those little engines run good are are a lot of fun.
In the right spot at the right time and to top it off the right price too. Nice purchase..........Paul
It has been a while, but one gold strike still sticks in my mind, and entices me back . With no plans to buy, good thing you took some $.
