D500, Nice addition to your layout! I am glad you said something about the Plexi glass! LOL

Jim, Nice buy! Pictures are coming!

Patrick, wonderful Christmas layout! Also its hard to think of you re-scenicing such an already great looking layout!

Mark, don't worry about the trains, they will be there when your ready! Take care of yourself FIRST!

PDDMI, Great looking building, Also what a wonderful grandson!

Bob, sure looks like you had fun! Thanks for the pictures and videos! Videos were a little shot though 04 & 12 Sceonds! LOL

Yesterday I went out to the train room as started to layout my cork road bed down and realized I didn't like the home made bridge I built for the upper lever to one day go outside. So I had 4 small girder bridges laying around, cut the ends off 2 of them and the other 2 I cut both ends off and kind of scratched built one long girder bridge. I also got all the cork I had laid down.

I still have to do some fine tuning on the bridge to have it work well with the lift of my other bridge, but that's what today is for. Here are a few pictures Jim!20181229_10491520181229_10492720181229_170839

Finished off the wood chip hopper adding plastic trucks but decided to order a few more MTH/Weaver die cast trucks from Pat's Trains. Painted the railings. Once they are dry I can start cutting them to fit around the top of the silos. While the paint was drying I started to add an extra LED shop light by the stairs to add more light to the area around the brewery. Couple of pics.............Paul

Very nice. Sitting here drinking my Sip of Sunshine IPA, brewed in Stratford CT.   Yesterday had Henneker’s Working Man Porter from Nashua NH. Mark I hope you get good news and get some time to choo choo!!!!     Woodson Charles Ro has them today for 359.00!!  I hadn't seen them cheaper than 404.00.  LHS let me have this one for 369.00.  After showing me he paid 349.00 for it.  So I bought some other stuff too!

Jim

Jim, After waiting 7 weeks, whatever the MRI shows will be good news.  Then the doctor and physical therapist will know exactly what the problem is instead of making very good educated guesses!    I do think I will have time for choo choo this long weekend.  Keep my fingers crossed.

Mark, May your MRI be boring! In any event it will be good to know the nature of your challenge.

Looks great, Mike! Whenever you build a bridge don’t forget the trolls!

Hi everyone, so I went out this morning and worked on my bridge, also removed all the tape holding down my freshly glued down cork roadbed from last night. Here are a couple of pictures. I gave the bridge lift for the girder bridge the KISS affect! So nothing very special, but it works just fine!

I am going to have to break down and get another case of Roadbed! I hope the last one, that will make 225 LFT.

Let me know what you think!20181230_11561020181230_11562020181230_11562820181230_115639

Went into the City yesterday to brave the crowds and see the Holiday sights. My only mission was the Holiday Train Display at the NYC Transit Museum in Grand Central-nailed it! Very nice layout but the store was packed (as was Mid-town), so we didn't stay long. Managed to see the whole thing though and take some pix. Lot's of little ones down at the rail so drone angle shots are all I got. The model of the Terminal is spectacular.

I'm use to crowds having grown up here but I don't think I've ever seen it this bad. This was the closest we could get to Rockefeller Center on 49th St.

Bob, Thank you for the great photographs of your visit to the Big City!  And I complain about going to Downtown Pittsburgh with it's two-lane streets and only a small fraction of the crowd!  Oy!!

Today I re- soldered a broken feed wire to my old lionel gate-men houses. They are controlled through Azatracs boards with photo-eye sensors which also triggers an electronic bell. Oddly the bell could only then be triggered manually. I thought the bell trigger output was compromised. After an hour I quit and powered the system down for the night. Magically, the next day it works fine. I had rebooted many times that night but a condenser must have remained powered until sitting unpowered for more than a few minutes.

Mike. nice smooth operating bridge mechanism. Neat idea to use the one bridge to lift the other. Track work is coming pretty good. Always one more box of cork. Mark, hope you are doing better. ........Paul

Thank you Paul!  Hopefully the MRI I had yesterday will shed some light.  I am to get a steroid injection in two weeks.  But I just keep plugging along!

Butch,  You have an excellent point!  The thing is my wife is worse off than me.  I think all the old folks (all in their lat 80s and 90s) still think of us as young people.  I have to remember what they were like when they were 62.  Yes, it is a bit draining, especially when I'm not sleeping well.  I am trying to take your advice.  Thank you!!

thanks for posting that tree at Rockefeller center always want go and see that

We entertained our only Grandson, Alex, so the only accomplishment on Saturday was to take Alex to the train room and he played with his miniature trucks An crane on his construction sight. I began him with an HO layout.  His attention lasted over 30 minutes this trip! I'm pleased.

I am near ready to slice styrofoam to enclose my tunnel on my O Gauge layout.  Ordered an electric slicer and it arrived Saturday.

Double rail tunnel entrance on one end. Three rails on the opposite end due to a switch so near the opening.  I will regret this in the future when the switch malfunctions. Will rethink this idea...

Point of interest:

Those of you who continue to receive newsprint, Saturday was  an OGR forum Like!

Yea- funny how we take it for granted since we are a 30 min train ride away. Definitely a bucket list item for sure.
A buddy of mine showed me a photo of his son recently. He was foreman on the scaffold crew and he was standing next to the star. Very cool.

Looks great Mike!  AND WOW! TWO lift bridges! AWESOME~!!

Jim

Bob, thank you for the short video, it made me laugh! Also thank you for the nice words!

Paul, Thank you Sir. I really hope this will be the last case of cork for awhile! LOL

TOMCO, It was your hard worked that fixed it. The gate man just need time to see if he would like the bell ringing again, who knows he might have been the one who broke it in the first place! LOL Thanks for the compliments!

Mark, Take care and prayers are with you!

Lee, thanks it took half a day, but heck it works!

Larry, the nice words coming form you mean a lot! You have such a wonderful layout and to just have time to notice mine is thanks by its self! Thank you again!

John, sounds like you had a good Saturday. Spending time with the grandkids can mean everything when you look back on those days! Sounds like you have a good plan for your foam work, please make sure to let us know how things turn out!

Andy, thank you for the kind words! Maybe some day I will have a nice layout like yours!

TANNER111, thanks it took me 2 weekes to build the lift section for the Atlas bridge till I got it right. Took me half a day to get the girder bridge mounted to work with the first one. I am glad you like it and thank you!

Jim, thank you!  You know the old saying, 2 is better then 1! LOL I am just glad it work nicely !

Thank you all who have commented and those who just clicked like! It really warms the heart to hear from people who like what you do! Thank you all again!

P.S. GO SEAHAWKS!

Sorry Elliot

I finished detailing the Lionel 21" Challenger set Pullman, "American Flyer".  I previously moved walls to eliminate seven wall edges on one side and five on the other from showing through the windows.

I cut out extra seats to place in the middle staterooms.  See the original center section of the factory interior compared to my finished interior.

Then I added Presier 65602 People that I painted.

The Baggage car is also finished.  The Dome Observation is half done.  I may do a thread on the seven cars when I I finished.

Sincerely, John Rowlen

The missing nut isn't missing--just didn't have the stud lined up properly.  Later disassembled the ramp and got it all back together and working well--the horses move along nicely.  Going through my boxes looking for more candidates to paint to prep for next Christmas.

Mike G. nice work on adding the girder bridge to the movement of your lower double main bridge span, I truly enjoyed watching it work! I'm most likely going to have to figure out some sort of lift up/out section before I finish layout construction. And, way to go on your latest progress with track laying! I'd say that you're quickly approaching a golden spike ceremony!
