Thanks. I don’t like these kind of videos, but it seems every one else does.  I like narrow scenes. 

The shortest 15 car train ever!!!!  LOL!!!!   Great cars!!

I think it was a great video!  I prefer that type and really don't like the narrow scenes.  I like to see the whole layout!  So I can steal..  I mine learn things from it lol : )

ahahah right Mike.  That train is only 6.5 feet long.   Sitting on a 11 foot siding!  The shortest of the 4 sidings is 7 feet. So it will fit nicely.  Sometimes I regret using 072 outside and 060 inside.  Takes up a ton of space as I'm sure you are dealing with now. And the straight areas would have been longer.  But then I think how much better the trains look and act on those radius curves im glad I used them!  Got to give up something to gain something else!

Looks great. I used crushed granite chick grit for all the ballast on my layout.

Ah I don't think so. I don't use any cars newer than 1959. And should use 1957 as a limit. Hmmm maybe they are from the future?????😃

Steve, the sweepings curves make for interesting mainline running.

You know when to throw your hat into the ring and you have to know when to throw in the towel. I officially threw in the towel. I gave up looking for windows and doors. For the life of me I have no clue what I did with them. So rather then waste more time looking I went to an old method I was going to use many years ago. Way back when Fred Dole was selling the brick paper I was also able to get a sheet of doors and windows from him. One night, when I was still working my boss said he could run off extra sheets for me. I had cut them all out and they had been sitting in a couple of chip dip containers all these years. I got them out and worked them a bit more. And I glued them to my building. Now I can start to make up some roofs for the tops, add railings, a pipe for blowing wheat into the top and some kind of hoist for equipment to be lifted tro the building. That is also why I put the double doors in. Pics.....................Paul

Getting back into the hobby. It may not look like much, but finally getting all these 022s serviced, wired, and working on the new layout was a milestone for me. I would say I’m now past the halfway mark.

Love getting inspiration from what others on the forum have done. More to come. Thank you!

Good evening worked today on my MTH row house section on my layout. Elevated this side of the street to make things look a bit different.

Used 3/4" styrofoam for a base and used white painters caulking to glue the sections together and then used the same caulking to fill in the seams on the surface. Spent a few hours putting ground covering on the side of the bank.

Once everything dried  I sprinkled snow on everything to make things look winter like.

For me this is the best part of building a layout.

Kevin, looks like a lot of work. But I would have to say you have a lots of layout in such a small space! Looking good!

Mark, what w wonderful winter scene ! I agree raising the ground level there makes it look a little better!

Yesterday Mr. Brown dropped off some more Cork roadbed so today I will be out in the train room laying that. Also last night I ordered some O54 track to finish up the upper loop, and 2 #4 Scale trax switches. It should be enough to get all the upper loop section done. I am thinking about removing the second track up on the top loop for more building space. If not I will need 1 more switch for the top area.

Finished demo on the ink-jet printer. I've reduced a once productive piece of equipment to a pile of plastic and three motors and drive assemblies. When you look at one of these things you realize that they are 95% plastic.

Here are the three drives that I salvaged

The bottom one is what I was after for the gantry crane project. I hooked it up to an old HO transformer I had. Works great at about 6 volts but will run at any speed up to the 18V output of the transformer.

Here's a video of it in action. Forward-reverse is easy with DC.

Thanks, Mike. The attic space is 40’ wide but only about 8’ deep, so definitely has its limitations.

Adding whisker track length, now that my workbench has been moved to to the New Wing.

Yes, my layout is a mess! Fine. The New Wing will relieve some of that - finally, work in one area, run trains in another.

Anyway, in progress; not even the final shape or edging:

Rough fitting; there will be a leg tucked under there, some edging and Plexiglas.

(BTW, that stack of stuff under the new area is my swap meet "for sale" stack; anybody need a lightly-run Williams Blue Goose die-cast steamer and matching 4-car aluminum set?)

I configured my Lionel F3's obtained from @MrMuffin'sTrains, the limited edition #27 engines.  These are beautiful, very very well done engines.  I set up the engines as #27 (powered A) and #72 (unpowered A) also set them up as train 27 on the Legacy 2 remote.  Since these are bluetooth engines, I also "found" them on the lion chief app.

Wow, Those are a lot of great projects folks have been working on!!  I am so far behind, I'll just make that overall comment.  Between visiting relatives and going to PT and getting my MRI, I haven't done anything in the last couple days.  

Mark I hope you get good news and get some time to choo choo!!!!     Woodson Charles Ro has them today for 359.00!!  I hadn't seen them cheaper than 404.00.  LHS let me have this one for 369.00.  After showing me he paid 349.00 for it.  So I bought some other stuff too!

Jim, After waiting 7 weeks, whatever the MRI shows will be good news.  Then the doctor and physical therapist will know exactly what the problem is instead of making very good educated guesses!    I do think I will have time for choo choo this long weekend.  Keep my fingers crossed.  

Replaced burnt out bulbs in some buildings, re-sceniced my log cabin  scene, fixed some roads.  All in all a good days work.  

Just learned something amazing!   To me but most of you may already know.  You can run ANY LC, LC+, AND Legacy engine that has blue tooth with the LC-LC+ universal remote!!!   As I have been saying for years.    The LC technology is making its move to the top!    

Now if you could just run a Legacy engine on DC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went into the City yesterday to brave the crowds and see the Holiday sights. My only mission was the Holiday Train Display at the NYC Transit Museum in Grand Central-nailed it! Very nice layout but the store was packed (as was Mid-town), so we didn't stay long. Managed to see the whole thing though and take some pix. Lot's of little ones down at the rail so drone angle shots are all I got. The model of the Terminal is spectacular.

I'm use to crowds having grown up here but I don't think I've ever seen it this bad. This was the closest we could get to Rockefeller Center on 49th St.

Butch,  You have an excellent point!  The thing is my wife is worse off than me.  I think all the old folks (all in their lat 80s and 90s) still think of us as young people.  I have to remember what they were like when they were 62.  Yes, it is a bit draining, especially when I'm not sleeping well.  I am trying to take your advice.  Thank you!!
