Thanks Mark, it has been fun if not time consuming. You are right my helper loves the pop up holes with the added side benefit that it forces me to keep my wiring tidy since I know her and her little brother like to play underneath there.

Rusty, thanks for the nice words! It sure beats crawling under, and the nice thing is it can not be closed from the outside! So the door will always be open when I want to come in!

Finished up a 9224 horse coral repaint in this year's red/green/silver style which joins an MPC operating milk car stand.

The missing nut isn't missing--just didn't have the stud lined up properly.  Later disassembled the ramp and got it all back together and working well--the horses move along nicely.  Going through my boxes looking for more candidates to paint to prep for next Christmas.

Well Brian, Izzy looks like it was a good Christmas!  That Doggie Dinner Car reminds me of when we had dogs when I was a kid. Rival & Ken-L-Ration were popular. I remember the smells before & AFTER the dogs ate it. Funny now but not back then. I don’t remember dry dog food back then. 

Hope Izzy got more trains.

Looks great Brian, at least you can walk from one end to the other and everything's visible. On a side note sorry to see your Browns loose. Great game and a huge improvement from years past.

I just picked these up at Wal-Mart, 20 trees for $5. cant beat that at 25¢ per tree!

I did a bit of test running the PS2 3-volt board Premier Western Maryland Shay I bought from a good Forum member over Christmas.  It is on the original Blackwater Canyon Line layout I started last year, that I will soon be moving and altering in the bigger family room.  That is why the buildings etc are a bit of a hodge podge.  

The WM Fireball sign was a Christmas present for me.  I also sold some cars yesterday to help defray the unexpected cost of the Shay.  

Brian, how about that loaded Doggie Dinner car full for our Little Orphan Annie who is about 10.  We don't have an accurate idea on age since she was a drop off by our house when she was almost full grown.  Annie looks like she is at Daddy Warbuck's house these days!  

Mike G it must be TREE DAY!!!  I went to hobby lobby and spent 10 bucks on 38 trees!    Well "Sorensen Trees"   Had fun making them too! I got some weird colored ones too!  Wife said they looked like fall.   I may try some of them tomorrow.  

Mark!  I hope running the choo choos make you feel better!!!

Mark - I'm glad you got the engine and like it.  I do as well, but Annie looks like a real sweetheart.  Dogs are a gift to man from God.

The Shay looks great Mark. I like the sign too. Hope your sciatic heals and you can start building your layout soon.

Thanks Mike.  You've made great progress building a train room extension on your garage and the benchwork, bridges etc.  Don't be impatient.  It will all come along fine.  Like I tell my visitors,"my layout will never be done."  I really don't want it to be.  I have a lot of scenery work in the yard storage area yet to be done and little finishing touches everywhere. LOL. Happy/Healthy New Year!

Oil Derrick repaired.  It was sticking and used a bit of counter weight to help.  good for now...

Finished the Lionel 21" Challenger set Coach Car #5040.  I put steel E-clips on the truck posts to hold the trucks on the car.  The silver Lionel E-clips tend to bend out of shape.  I have had three cars so far arrive with dangling trucks.

The interior is painted with seats in three coats of tan and toilets in two coats of flat white.  The single toilet bathroom had the toilet installed facing the wrong direction.  The assembler was having fun putting it in backward.  This is not uncommon.

I added Preiser 65602 Unpainted Seated People that I painted.  The people are grouped in family or conversation groups.  I had to touch up the paint and add hair to them before gluing in place.  I will place the body shell back on the car after the glue cures  The next car to detail will be the Add-on Dome Car.

Mark, the Shay and Sign were made for each others.

I had to find somewhere to put all those trees so I put the rest on a piece of foam to store them. And then I put rocks back around that foam piece and poof onto the layout!!!

This is one of my favorite  threads and I want to thank all those that post here. Hopefully  I will start posting buy the end of the year. Has taken me several days getting cought up after being away in Williamsburg Petes town enjoying my other hobby Revolutionary War. I may not post much but know there are those out here looking in and enjoying the post getting ideas and learning all the time.

Thank you Matt, Bob, Mike, and Tom!  A Shay was on my long term list, and right now wasn’t the time to buy.  So I sacrificed some nice items that will make other Forum members happy.  That makes it good.  I would have settled for a smaller Shay, but WM #6 will be right at home on my layout WM layout.

 Thank you for well wishes on my back.  The MRI showed I have a bulging disc.  I get a steroid shot at that spot on the 15th.  It remains to be seen if they can relieve it with PT and medication alone.  Today has been a good day for it, so far.  I took down the Nativity that blew over in up to 60 mph gusts And moved the parts around back to dry out and get repaired and stored.  Many days I couldn’t have done that much.  Tonight will tell if I pay for it!  Ha ha!

Mark I hope they can fix it without surgery!  We had some big wind here yesterday !!  Luckily we spent all day Sunday putting away our Christmas display!  Took weeks to put it up.  And one day to take it down lol
