We (my son T and I) had a great day yesterday. Made the trip to CT McCormick Hardware to pick up our new SD70ACe's UP 1943 and NS 1111. Real friendly people there with a nice selection and a pretty neat town also. Reminded me of Port Clinton a little. Had lunch in Zeilenople and then made the trek to Middlefield, OH to visit Corner Field model Railroad museum. What an awesome place! Then made a stop in downtown Cleveland for some dinner and got some last minute Cavs tickets (they are pretty cheap right now) 13.5 hours on the road and we made it back home. Great Day! As we passed by a few towns on the east side of Cleveland, I pointed out to T where different layouts and shows were that we had seen online!
Johan, the flat car looks great!
Jerry, I am glad you had a great time and thanks for your thoughts!
Paul, sure is looking good! I wouldn't worry about a railing on the roof, all it would do is invite someone to climb up there for no reason! LOL
Jim, YOU work way to much! I am glad you like your new remote and hope you have a lot of fun figuring it out!
Ed, it happens to us all. I am sorry you had to redo the crossing gate, but if you ask me I think things look great!
Mark, I hope the steroid injection helps, it really suck to go around in pain all the time! Thanks for the prayers as I know they helped me threw the cancer thing!
John, what wonderful work you are doing on the passenger cars! Keep it up!
Lee, thanks for your thoughts, but its all good. If I can beat stage 4 cancer this should be a walk in the park!
Dave, nice and neat. But are you sure your not running a train store? OVERFLOW LOL!
Bob, thank you sir! Whatever the doc says as I have a layout to build and I know its going to take time! LOL
Once again great pictures Brian! With all the pictures you do, Izzy must be helping you out! LOL
Thaddeus, what a GREAT DAD! Looks like you both had a blast and thank you for the wonderful pictures! Also Thank you for sharing your special adventure with the rest of us!

I am glad you had a great day with your son. Isn’t Zelienople a neat town? I just drove through on last Wednesday to see my 93-year old aunt at the senior care facility at the South end of town. Jeff McCormick, his wife, and I’m not sure if the young man is their son are all great people!
Im glad you liked the layout and Elishes at CornerField! I need to get back to see the addition! Thank you for all the photographs!
Pretty neat seeing the Cavaliers players. I’m not a fan of basketball, but have friends who are fanatics. It’s the closest pro game to us here.
Not much doing around here, as I've been nursing a mild but annoying cold since Christmas. However, the unpowered SP unit from Neel (many thanks again!) did show up, and I've been mulling over pan placement...

Painting some more scale porthole windows from P&D Hobby to simulate trim before installing in PW LIONEL F units.
And anxiously awaiting USPS carrier with latest purchase.

In other news, I should be able to send you the Pennsy, non-GG1 tomorrow. In keeping with the Christmas Spirit (read copious amounts of wine, liberally interspersed with some shots of fine Irish Sippin’ Whiskey), I’ve decided to send you both the powered and dummy units. I’ll send you the shipping info when I get it.

I bought a "Like New" condition 346 culvert unloader a few months back from a reputable online vendor - I got an EXCELLENT price because it was being sold as broken. I bought a board from Lionel during their annual parts sale and finally got around to installing it yesterday but there was still issues. With the help of Hokie71 and his documentation from a previous phone call to Lionel, I managed to fix the other items (string jam in pulley and vertical position gear assy in wrong position), and finally got things running. It really works well and I'm quite happy with this purchase!

Mike glad you are getting things done! I fooled around a bit contemplating moving that closet! Did some voltage tests on my current track. 18.24 at the power input. 18.22 at the track that is farthest away from it. Thats pretty good seeing there is no bus wires or feeders installed yet! LOL

Thanks Jim, I would thing a .2 drop would be great! I have another switch to install, but want to wait till I get the other 3 for my cross over! I will probably just go out later today and fiddle around!
I say up front Mitch. It's closer to an E-33 rectifier not a "wreck-it-tifier" where you"ll actually have possibility of a pantgraph ending up in unmentionable places...(images of Eric Cartman getting an alien probes make him hit the floor.....again )
Over the past few days I have been working on my loading platform and roof for the side of one of the buildings. I still have three more to make up for three other buildings. But this one is glued in place now. I just painted stairs I cut to size for the end of the platform. And today my Weaver TOFC I got from the bay came. I lucked out because this one was a hard one to come across. Plus it was not up for bid and there was only one for sale. I was at the right spot at the right time. Pics...............Paul

Finished the painting the interior seats and toilets of the Lionel Challenger two-pack Coach #5484. I replaced the silver E-Clips that hold the trucks on the car with Steel E-clips from Home Depot. This car has a few less people than the #5040 Coach. I again had to turn the toilet around in the Men's bathroom on this coach too.
I painted all of the Preiser 65602 figures, and need more paint to complete figures for the main floors of both Dome cars.
The Dining car is next and will get seat backs glued to the backs of the squares on the floor that act as seats. This will give me 62 cars completed since February, 2018. With my previous Lionel 21" passenger cars and Atlas O California Zephyr and Amtrak cars, I will have finished 137 O-gauge passenger cars in my collection. It is not quite the 180 Walthers passenger cars I did in HO.
Sincerely, John Rowlen

Paul, the loading dock looks great! I am glad you got the TOFC cause I was starting to thing you stopped and went in another direction! LOL
John, the people are wonderful and its a good thing your a plumber! LOL Wonderful job!
Went out tonight after dinner to run my single train, and low and behold I found some bad spots! Low signal and engine would stop. Tomorrow I will check the joints and if needed add one more drop in that area!
Everyone have a great weekend!
Paul, the dock looks great! Another TOFC! Great!
John, The passenger cars look great!
Some nice work going on here!!!! Mike I was chasing a track fitment issue and created a dead spot!!! 😐 got the tracks all fitting excellent! Tomorrow I will be finishing up wiring the siding and putting power block areas between the swithchs connecting the mains. So I can shut power off to trains sitting there while switching maneuvers happen. Did I mention I don't like wiring???? 😄

I worked on my new Pennsylvania Dining Car that was too bright with green tinted window.
I removed most of the green tint and painted the LEDs Orange to dim the brightness. I left the green windows n the Kitchen Area because there is nothing in the kitchen.
I will be installing heavy Clear Transparency material for new windows.

Finished bashing a Matchbox IH 1937 truck into a milk (can) truck, with cans on tailgate, except l need a hobo like figure to sit on the tailgate with the cans. Started on another IH, with a cab repaint, which demands a more complete disassembly. Thinking l will lengthen the chassis for a longer wheelbase on this one.
Jim, it's funny how dead spots can just pop up! I am glad you got it fixed. Sure sounds like you have a good plan for your sidings! I have a bunch of free DTDP switches I plan on using to do the same thing!
John, looking good! I really like the Orange LED lighting! Very Cool!
Colorado Highrailer, sounds like a lot of work, but I bet its going to be nice! Do you have any photo's you can share on how your do the matchbox cars?

Mike- Just had the same thing happen the other day. I was moving an engine out of a siding and it died on the switch. Did a little investigating and found a bad solder joint on the center rail. Gotta fix it later today.
John- the work you are doing on the passenger cars is impressive.
Paul- the docks are looking good. Nice score on that TOFC car.
Colorado- I barely have time to work on my trains. One day I will get around to trucks and cars. Would love to see some pix of your work.

Johan, enjoyed the video. Very nice looking consist..
Mike, your layout is starting to take shape fast. When you work on it you move fast.....looking good.
This afternoon I got back to the layout. First thing was to break apart two of the flats because I didn't like the way they were sitting against each other. While the glue was setting on those I had one small single window flat that I glued to the last two pieces. With that it should butt me up against the backdrop. Also on the two sections I re glued I got my palm sander out and put a 45 degree angle on the one edge so the last three flats will sit a a 45 dgree angle. And while everything was drying I got the stairs at the end of the first loading dock glued in place. Once I get those flats into place I can start doing my loading platforms. Hope to get a bit more done after dinner. Pics........Paul

Today I updated my latest Railroad Modeller Pro layout plan to reflect the adjustments I made on site. Still pondering where to put blocks..But I am going to work on the siding block switch. One siding has a MiJack I would like to get going. And thinking about the name for the line. Currently Dutchman's Curve since I live about a mile from the site of the famous railroad crash.

Geee guys I had planned to get more done today/tonight, but it didn't happen. Once again I outsmarted myself! LOL So I get off work at noon and right home to the train room! I figured since I had to take the sidings apart I would figure out how many 10 inch pieces I could swap out for 30s. Well I ended up needing 6 30s to get rid of 18 of the 10s! So that many less joints to worry with. Off to the hobby shop, stop and lowes, and home depot to get wire and some stuff. Then the 1.5 hour round trip to the hobby shop! Got home about 5. Then I see that the 30 inch piece don't have recessing in the bottom for wires. So I took a bur and made … BUNCHES of them! Got two sidings done... And it looks like a bomb went off in there!
Jim
I forgot the good news. I watched a video on soldering.. Only had to do two joints but its the best looking and quality soldered joints I have ever done! And .. I enjoyed doing it all! : )
