Paul, Those colors look good for the rock and earth. You are coming right along!
Brian, Crazy is right!!
Brian that looks a little freak a delic! LOL
Paul that gorge is looking great! Could you share what your fascination is with them there plum sticks? : ) I see lots of cups sitting around. Yall must have been thirsty!! LOL
Cows still aint come home. : ( One package says maybe Friday and the other says Monday! UGGGG
Still raining like crazy. All the low places are flooded. My road looks like a small river! I tried to pull too far forward and just barely off the end of the driveway and my van sunk 8 to 10 inches!!! Lucky it has a posi-track rear end in it.. Backed it back out!! UGGGG AGAIN!!!
Jim
here's what I started with, my outdoor 4th of July train...
Jim, I never thought of them as plum sticks LOL I use foam applicators to apply the colors. Each cup is for a color........Paul
GandyDancer, that is one sharp truck! And the white car in the background is also impressive.

Thank you, Lee. This is a very friendly forum, and I am glad that the admins do not permit hostility, insults, etc.
But I was referring to the fact that I'm new at model railroading, and am WAY behind most of you.

New on the forum new at Model Railroading your welcome here and I’m with you on the strict rules of degrading nonsense and insults. Alan has cleaned house the past couple years and got this forum running like fine tune machine

Dr. Joe. I read the instructions on the AIU..
I have a question. Your layout worked fine until you tried to add the AIU?
Seems there is just one cable that connects the AIU to the TIU. If you unhook it. Does your signal return?
I know NOTHING about DCC but it sure looks interesting and complex! I thought maybe someone outside of the box may be helpful.
Jim
Jim, I may have misspoke. I do not have an AIU. The problem arose after the upgrade to 6.1 of the TIU.
The TIU however, is not the problem. When I connect it to a test track, it works fine. So does the remote and the WIU.
So, my only conclusion is that my wiring is somehow messed up. I decided to buy some OGR wire from Mr Muffins' Trains and re-do everything.
Thank you for chiming in!
Dr. Joe, now I see going back to read again. I thought you were connecting track or crossing signals. You mean your signal strength is low. Yes bad connections or too thin gauge wire would cause that.
Howard, I missed the chains on the truck. It’s great!
Well hey, we hit page 700!
I got the foam painted on the sawmill pond lift out tonight. Tomorrow, I will start adding some ground cover scenery around the edges of the lake and then plant the sawmill and logs on pond.
I also printed and assembles the log pond dam sluice gates
Good Evening Guys and Gals,
Today rock work was finished, in this area, and the first couple of layers of wash was applied.
Dave
700 pages!!!!

WOW!
Dave, outstanding work on the mountain scene !!! Keep posting photos, can't wait to see how it evolves.
Al, the sawmill pond is looking good. I have never modeled water, maybe one of these days.
GANDY - Great photo with the two truck. I forgot I have one of those packed away that I purchased probably 15 or more year's ago. The setting you have it set in looks very realistic, nice work.
Paul, I have been quietly watching your progress on the gorge, you're doing a great job, the coloring of the rocks really makes them pop !

Chris,
I appreciate it. I regularly follow what you are doing with your layout construction. The building you are currently working on is going to be a grande finishing touch to the area you are installing it in.

Unless this Bing return somehow ties to an oddly titled and basically blank entry in the Sheri Lewis & Lambchop Fandom pages catagory, the Yzarc bit flew spinning over my head out into space behind that loco 👾
No more of last weeks parsely & rye dough pizza with the extra mushroom topping from those hippie ice cream men, eh? 😲.... Brian?....Huh, Where'd he go ? He left his cap gun behind ! 🔫 😯 ...🦎
Ouch me eyes; thats an "Evil pink" paint match up 😵
( And there's snow on the tundra 🤔 I better get trudging and have pancakes for breakfast now....just in case 😏)
Great mountain scene Dave! Can't wait to see more.
Gandy- beautiful truck
Lew- Nice modifications. Gives you more room for scenery too.
Brian- been a little to close to the paint fumes lately?
Al- nice work on the pond and the gates.
Dr.Joe- sorry you are stuck in DCS purgatory....flying Barry in is sounding better by the day.
Bob
OK- my turn.....
My campus closed early yesterday because of the monster 2" storm we had.
Got the second coat of paint on the front trim when I got home and tried my hand at plaster cloth. Really easy stuff to work with. Don't know why I didn't try it sooner. Thanks to Paul for the recent tutorial in the gorge.
I made a mock up first to see how it went. I put a couple of wet paper towels down to build a little terrain. Wet the cloth and applied and shaped. That simple. I will see what I will use for ground cover tonight.
Then I moved to the layout and did the same. I had cast a few plaster rock molds a while back so I incorporated one in the corner. Looks better already.
Bob
I went back this morning and added one more piece on the front of the rock. It looked too square when I took a second look at it.
Looking for a appropriate background to put on the wall too.
looks GREAT Bob very nice...

Paul 2, the rocks in the gorge look great!
OK Brian, what did Izzy put in your coffee? LOL
Jim, I sure hope you don't float away!
Howard, Nice job on the truck with the plow! The chains are a nice addition!
Dr. Joe, sure sounds like a huge undertaking, can't you just disconnect one feed at a time till you find the problem?
CSX AL, what skill's you have! Great work! I really like fallowing your work, Thank you !
Dave, all I can say is WOW!
Matt, I can't remember the last time we got over 30" of snow! I could have made money with my tractor, but being stuck at the store and dealing with the flu I missed out! LOL
Lew, The new tack plan looks a lot better! Nice idea!
Bob, look at you go! Just like a pro! Nice job!
Last night, l made up four beds...pillow, sheet, two blankets..with four or more to go... using various colored construction paper on the bunk beds in this logging bunkhouse. Looks good! (surprised me!). I don't usually put interiors in my buildings, and may never again, as this is taking forever, vs. previously when l have had as many as three structures under way at once, tryin to crank'em out.

I'm going solo, Paul. Hope they have the diner breakfast again. Was a lot of fun to meet a lot of OGR men there. Would be good to put faces to names.

Incredible!

This was my very first locomotive it was orange faded and needing help so I sanded it and repainted it and decaled it. This will probably go on the layout in my new model/train room in the house.
Lee, you can still hit it with a final satin/matte coat when you are ready. Clear over clear isn't an issue (same type/brand), just scuff it lightly with a fine paper or soft scotchbrite first so it can bite well.
Lee, I just acquired this 202 last night. I haven't opened it up yet, but it came with some other postwar rolling stock that hadn't seen the light of day since Eisenhower was President. The rear wheels are locked, which to me suggests something amiss with the worm gear Front end is cracked and slightly broken, so there may be impact damage inside. The pumpkin orange color is a bit off putting, but I plan to clean it up and keep the original color.
I haven't worked on one of these diesels before. Anything I should know before I dig in?
Regards
Pete.
Pete. I also forgot to tell you when you open it up the headlight will be Bent Straight if you want the light to go through the hole in the Shell of the engine bend the headlight bracket up just a little bit as you can see in my pictures and it will shine through the whole better I put a brighter bulb in it but be careful doing this because you might melt the Shell I’m testing a new lightbulb out now to see if it makes the Shell hot but seriously I don’t think I would recommend this
Thanx, Lee! I will check that out. That orange color on early plastic is downright ugly. Reminds me of a girl I once dated.. Rather than paint it, I think I will turn it into a Halloween train and make spooky decals for it.

Mike - to be 18 again, with a nice new pickup with a plow. When I was 18, a new aluminum shovel was a big deal. LOL! Stay safe & hope you’re feeling better.

Dave, were you a geologist in a past life? Those mountains look wonderful!
Pete
Bob that trim is looking good! So is the plaster work! Have you ever worked with foam?
Dave is making this stuff look easy! I'm planning on trying some stuff soon too!
Sean's Trains showed some Woodland Scenic or Scenic Express stuff that looks like aluminum foil but thicker. He used it on his layout. Pretty cool stuff...
Still raining here............... And no cows................ LOL
Jim
Matt, I feel a lot better the Flu is pretty much gone and the snow is slowly melting! Both make me a happy guy!
Brian, isn't there a warning on the bottle about ingesting smoke fluid! If not I am sure there will be now! LOL
Jim, don't worry, I have it on good reports that the COW's are on the way home! LOL
