I noticed the "new" designation is still on a thread from Jan 2013.
Is it similar to the word "mint" that I often see in the for sale forum?

I've wondered that myself; I just looked 6 pages deep and all were still "new".
Is it just that in the 21st Century, everything old new again? Except me.
When I "hover" over the term "new," I get a message that says there have been updates to the thread...since I last visited. Just shows me how many threads I never read...or...how much activity there is on the forum.

Isn't that funny. I just went and hovered. I guess that I have never "hovered" before. Now I know. Computer usage, like the use of any tool, does change the way one thinks. My use is minimal. So - the little things are not known to me.
Yeah, activity. Everything is "New".
The “New” goes away if you read the post.

Every time I turn on a certain national TV media outlet, the bottom of the screen always says "Breaking News", but still The same old crap regardless. I was thinking the two might be related.
If YOU have not looked at the thread, then it is “new” to you, no matter how old the thread may be. Once you visit the thread, it will no longer appear as “new”.
