I am trying to hook up a used MTH Sinclair Gas station. The connectors under the gas station are really, really tiny. Stranded wire doesn't work so well. I am thinking I need to purchase some single-strand wire. The wire that came with the gas station is not long enough for my purposes. What gauge wire should I use?

It does not have to be very heavy wire, as the accessory just has a can motor. 22 or 24 or 26 gauge would be fine. You could use what was once called doorbell wire, or you could use the wire for home/yard irrigation systems. I agree that solid wire would be easier to use.

Solid wire is easier to work with for most accessories with the push-tab loop connections. If it's a long run, you can squeeze 20 Gauge wire in. Otherwise 22 Gauge is fine.
You can tin the ends of stranded wire to make them solid and easier to insert.
Common use, available at Big Box stores, usually 500 ft rolls. Thermostat wire. 18, 20 and 22 gauge. Cables 2, 3, 4, etc. conductors. Multi conductor cables are usually color coded.
Edit/Add: Hardware Store may cut lengths for you. Thermostat wire is usually solid conductor.
