A lot of my searches for train items turn up with "Worthpoint" It appears to be an auction site of some kind...but, I have not been interested in investing in the "free trial" routine to find out.
Will someone, please, provide the "low-down" on Worthpoint?

Seems like it aggregates sales data from various auction sources so sellers can price their items competitively. Looks like it costs $20 per month.

No, you missed the point. An internet search would have netted you more information than was posted here , and from experts. The first place you should look for information that’s not strictly about model trains is the internet for a more accurate picture

Missing from the responses above is this is a pay to use site. You can sign on for a free 7 day trial but there is an annual or monthly cost. It seems this isn't for the casual seller.
