Oh, what the heck...I love shouting down the empty well!

With the re-introduction of 15" extruded aluminum passenger cars (Neil Young Signature Series), I'd like to see expansion of this product line with other road names.

I'd like to see more USRA type 4-6-2's and 2-8-2's with a variety of pilots, trailing trucks, tenders (e.g., small vandies), high headlights, centered headlights, cab styles, etc., etc..

Also, as has been encouraged on other threads, a new 2-6-2 Prairie...maybe of ATSF pedigree (e.g., 1800 or 1050 series).

Then, maybe a catenary and/or interurban overhead wire system.  And some under-the-wire items...you know, Don's steeplecab, for example.  Boy, an around-the-wall shelf layout with a steeplecab and/or interurban, would be so nifty for a hi-rail alternative to figuring out how to accommodate a 2-10-10-2 pulling a 200-car drag freight on O-360 curves!! (

Sure wish the 'Wizards of Wonderment' could figure out a reliable re-birth of the 3656 cattle car/corral.   Seems like most of the other iconic pw accessories have returned for the better....but not that one.

That's enough dreaming for now.  Just setting myself up for more disappointment down the road.

C'est la vie.

I would really like for Lionel to build...

  • Legacy Dockside Switcher
  • Legacy 0-6-0 Switcher
  • Southern Pacific 4-6-2 P10 in Daylight Livery
  • ATSF Texas Type
  • Vison Line ATSF Madame Queen
  • Vision Line SP Cab Forward
  • Vison Line SP AC-9
  • Vision Line Pennsy Q2
  • Vision Line Pennsy T1
  • Vison Line Scale Operating Rolling Stock
  • Vison Line Scale Accessories (Dockside Crane, Wash Rack, Switch Tower, Back Shop, Passenger Platform, Coal Mine) that are Legacy Controlled with interactive scenarios (sound track, character movement/lights) trigged by engine sensor/LSU/CAB2.
  • A pricing structure that has a higher degree of continuity, with clear pricing tiers that correlates features with MSRP like MTH has.

I'd like to see Lionel re-release the GS-4 with the correct heavy-duty main connecting rods instead of recycling the smaller one used on the GS-2 & GS-6.  Also please avoid repeating the mistake of the reversed Daylight fireball logo on the front skirting on the engineer's side.

Release their scale GP7 with the correct handrail stanchions.

Also for the SD40T-2 I would like them to address the incorrect truck placements, use the correct size fuel tanks for the SP and Rio Grande versions, make the flashing gyralite red instead of white and make the flashing feature user-selectable.  And please stop offering them in speed lettering with the L-shaped windshield and the gyralite; they were all converted to standard windshields and the gyralite removed well before the speed lettering was ever used.

And I'd like to see their scale freight rolling stock without the "made by Lionel" on the sides.  On the whimsical and traditional, non-scale stuff, fine.
