My display is pretty much the same every year. This youtube link is a slide show I posted for my out of state relatives and friends a few years ago.

Dirt, and daylilies. This is the tree in the front yard!
This thread was started earlier.
Anyway to combine the two?
Very nice! I really like the look of tinplate under a Christmas tree. I'll have to find a way to make room one of these years.

Strogey, thanks, I'm glad you liked it. If you do a search for joegeiser1 on the youtube page you will find some videos. They are videos of the things that move in the yard, quality isn't too good, but it is different.

You'll love it. Last year I finally went for a Tinplate set for under the tree. I am so glad I did...there really is nothing better than beautiful Tinplate running under the tree with all the Christmas lights shining on it.
Could not have my Christmas tree this year without a train underneath. I am using the Lionel Spirit of the Century set.
I don't have my tree out yet so I am pretty sure the only thing under my tree is boxes.

Scott, you need to lighten up a little. Where is your sense of humor? Very funny!!!!
I have the new Bachmann 4-6-0 Christmas set, which I had originally planned to run under the tree, but it's still sitting in its shipping box. After I ordered that set, I changed my mind and decided to run tinplate under the tree this year. However, I may change my mind once or twice again between now and Christmas Eve, and if that happens I have plenty of Christmas trains waiting in reserve. I will post a photo or two at some point.

I hope you do pull that Bachmann set out as I have been interested in it but the stock photo of it is lacking in detail. I want to see more pictures of it. I know you saw it in person at York, but all I have to go on is this stock photo that doesn't even show the entire train.

Forget the train, that is a gorgeous tree. Your layout is perfect, your tree is perfect. Do you live inside of a Martha Stewart magazine?

Make a compromise. Run both
I have Vinny under my tree
Thanks towdog for the compliments. It really helps to have a wife who loves Christmas and trains and who is also an artist. We both enjoy this time of the year and we put a good deal of effort in making the house and layouts reflect our love of Christmas.

Christmas tree? It's not even December yet! But when we do put up the tree, I'd like to put my father's Lionel #252 tinplate train under it -- if the cats don't bother it.
