I went on line last evening to buy replacement wheels for my O-Gauge 253. We all know that MEW is no longer with us. As a result of this I expected a moderate price increase on what product there is, still in the market place. Six weeks ago I purchased a set of wheels for another Lionel 200 series engine,($30.00 BIN). Tonight the same wheels,($78.00 auction) I predict that the wheels will exceed $90.00 plus shipping. I hope one of our forum sponsors can help. I've already tried all of my usual parts suppliers. There was a time when a small investment could make a so-so bargain into a sharp runner. Surely, I'm not alone in my thoughts.

Soon, my remaining pieces waiting on wheels will become,"for parts"engines .

Basic economics:  supply and demand, charge what the market will bear.  My feeling with the MEW wheels is that it is a market niche where there is a need, and if we give it time some one will fill it.  In the interim, supply will be tight, but I would think in a year or two someone else will be making and selling these. The demand isn't going to go away.

Picked up 4 set of o gauge wheels (2 set spoke'd and 2 set plane) from George Tebolt about a month ago.

I think they were $40 for spoke and $38  for plain.

Email for current Price.

Also picked a set of loco drivers on ebay from George Tebolt.

Best way is to e-mail George Tebolt and he will get back to you in a day.He is great to deal with.

Steve,

I know that Dick Mayer sold a large portion of his RichArt parts inventory and tooling to MEW.  Who purchased what's left of MEW?
