Where can buy classic lionel postwar style autos for the 6414 car

Reproduction automobiles were made in some of the less common colors such as brown in the early 1990's. At the time, at least some of the parts dealers were selling them at a reasonable price, around $25 for a set of four.

More recently, folks seem to be listing all sorts of unusual colored cars on Ebay at crazy prices, claiming that they were done by Madison Hardware.
Let's just say that I have my doubts.
You might find some of the older, less common colored reproduction cars in the stock of a well established parts dealer.

A little FYI about the replacement cars for the auto loader, they are not the same size as the original post war cars, they are approximately an eighth of an inch shorter or longer, so you will see the difference right away when placed next to a postwar car. And may have made in China on the bottom, or Lionel Corp. Mt Clemens Mich. USA.

The original cars have made in NY stamped on the bottom.

The reason I mention this, is because I tried to sell an auto loader to a collector and he showed me the differences.

No doubt but they are a fraction of the cost of originals. I picked up a set of 4 from Charles Ro for 15 bucks at York.

Tiffany, They are in the current Lionel catalog so you can order them directly from Lionel or any one of their dealers. Charles Ro is good as are many others. Maybe your LHS has them on the shelf. Click on the links to get the catalog numbers.
