Voila! Now, I have a place for those (most of 'em) odd-ball items and antique vehicles that are way too far out of time-sync with the rest of the layout to fit in properly. So, still being a kid at play, I configure them into the parade and feel they make some sense there. What do you say?

I'd say you found a really creative way to use those items in your collection that wouldn't go anywhere else. Not sure whether it's an old west parade, a pre-Christmas parade or something else, but it works and I'll bet a lot of visitors comment on it.

BTW, Frank, I really love that Imperial Wok building. Great detail. What I can't figure out is whether I'm correct that it somehow became Shaunessey's in another photo. Or, do my eyes deceive me?

I like this thread so thought that I’d have another go at keeping it alive.  This scene is my interpretation of two different photographs that I came across---one on the net and one in a train book.  The first was of a boxcar cut about like I divided my caboose, and used to house a (I think) large compressor.  The second showed a woman milking a cow with a train in the near background.  I think the advertising slogans from a local creamery clever, so robbed them of two that fit my cow shed.  My late uncle had a dairy farm which I loved to visit as a kid.  It was a Grade B dairy so slopped some mud around this section of my layout.  The mountain on my backdrop is suppose to be Mt. St. Helena, Sonoma County, California.  Early one morning I pulled to the side of the road (used to be Northwestern Pacific tracks) and took snapshot to use for inspiration.  Jim
