In reading reviews about various Lionel locomotives, I keep running across the term Whistle Steam, with some locos not having it. A real newbie question I am sure, but what is "whistle steam"?
It's a small stream of "smoke" that comes from a hole by a whistle when the WHISTLE button is pressed. A few videos on YouTube show "whistle steam" in action.
