This is track work about 15 miles from my house in a small farming community. I can't believe something doesn't derail. I guess weight is holding it on. Be sure to watch the whole video.

The track work on the Napa valley wine train is at least as bad as this track.
This is the old Minneapolis and St.Louis line that ran from Hopkins to Watertown, South Dakota. After the merger, it became property of the Chicago and Northwestern. I ran on this track many times when I was an engineer on the CNW. It was originally built with 90# strap rail, and still is, which is quite light. It has apparently been upgraded as I now see ballast. When I was on the on the CNW, it was mostly mud. Brings back old memories.

I've seen similar videos but the bad track work is greatly exaggerated by the use of the long end (telephoto) of the lens.
I don't think I would want to go over that track. That's a lot of weight rolling around. I can't even imagine going over it with a lot less ballast.
