This is the old Minneapolis and St.Louis line that ran from Hopkins to Watertown, South Dakota. After the merger, it became property of the Chicago and Northwestern. I ran on this track many times when I was an engineer on the CNW. It was originally built with 90# strap rail, and still is, which is quite light. It has apparently been upgraded as I now see ballast. When I was on the on the CNW, it was mostly mud. Brings back old memories.
