My iPhone / IPad received Wi-fi DCS update 4.0.   It looks like we are one step closer to getting ready for the new WTIU.    Below was the update notes:

The update stated starting with version 4.0.0 the MTH DCS Wi-FI Track interface unit is supported in addition to the previous WI-FI DCS track control products.   The updated version of the app is required to operate the all new WTIU

The new app and WTIU hardware offer an array of new features as conventional DC Track power control, firmware updates via app, faster responses, as well as bug fixes and connection stability improvements.

Over the  coming months, streaming audio directly from your IOS device to the train, updating engine sound files, and a lot of other new features will be added.

I just upgraded to the new DCS app and it did something very unexpected. A Lionel Lionchief RF engine automatically populated into my active engine roster the same way that you might expect a DCS engine would. An engine titled "Zombie" appeared (Zombie Apocalypse Loco) with a randomly assigned ID like a DCS engine. The app must have loaded this engine into the DCS app from the BASE-3 where I had it set up. But the DCS app didn't read anything else in from the BASE-3. Just that one Lionchief engine. And I can't seem to reproduce the behavior. I don't know if this was a glitch or whether @MTH RD has a secret project in the works to enable the DCS app to download data from the Legacy base. Wouldn't that be nice! Imagine not having to enter all those Legacy and TMCC locos manually.
