Will a Proto 2 Coupler work in a Proto 3 locomotive? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have a MTH Proto 3 Hudson that needs a new Proto coupler. I can't find a parts diagram for a Proto 3 Hudson, but I do find a parts diagram for a Proto 2 Hudson on the MTH website. Will a proto 2 coupler work? There are a few on ebay. I would like to call MTH, but it is difficult to get anywhere when you call, especially if you don't have a part number. I e-mailed MTH parts for a deck plate for a Challenger three months ago, but no one has responded. I know they are busy so I haven't kept e-mailing. Very frustrating! So I am trying to find another way to get parts.

I have a scale gp35 ps3 that i morphed in a rear coupler from a railking spare ps2 engine, it connected directly to the ps3 board and i can release the coupler with my DCS remote. I never even had to reload the engine features..it just worked.

Last engine in the panam/guilford mu has the coupler.

PS 2 and PS 3 couplers are the same. There are two lengths, I believe they are 44mm and 50mm.
