No! The Santa Fe learned, when purchasing their GP60B units, that the "B" unit cost them within $50,000 of an "A" unit. Their thinking at the time was to save money in the long run, on "cab maintenance" expenses. I don't see another railroad EVER doing that again!

Interesting question Swafford! I have been wondering the same thing lately. It seems like since BN ordered a bunch of C30-7ABs back in the late 70's/early 80's, the industry has given up on B units for modern diesels.

Too bad because they are a fun variation to observe in a consist of 3 or more engines.
