Wooden Stationary Display Base

This was a particular problem when the foam cover was not strapped on tight.  This allowed the wooden base to move.

If anyone has one of these engines and wants to repack and ship it here are the instructions to do so:

1.  Get a soft cloth or towel on a table and lay the engine & tender connect upside down so it is stable and resting.

2.  Use the Machined screws with the threads on one end and the screw driver slots on the other end and screw them into the bottom of the engine.  Make sure they are all are firmly tighten into the engine and tender.  (See first 3 photos attached)

3.  After all 5 Machine Screw are in the Engine and Tender get the 5 regular screws with the washers on them.  (Make sure you have the washer on these 5 screws)  Then lay the wooden base over the bottom of the engine and start with one of the front engine screws and screw it in not tighten yet.  After lining up and putting all five screws in then make sure all 5 are securely and firmly tightened with a screw driver.  (See forth photo attachment) 

4.  Then after the Engine and Tender have been firmly tightened on the wooden base please place the base into the white color bottom box tray.  (See location in 5th photo attached) Make sure that the two straps are put under the wooden base in the two GROVES on the bottom of the wooden base.  (See 6th photo attached)

5.  Next put the Foam Top over the engine.  DO NOT put any packing material on or around engine before putting the top foam over engine.  When putting foam over engine make sure that the foam goes all the way down to meet the edge of the white bottom box tray and make sure that the two straps are lined up in the two groves in the Foam Top.  (See Photos 7 & 8 Attached)

6.  Next the MOST IMPORTANT POINT.  You must first make sure both straps are in the groves of both the foam top and under the wooden base, which can be done by pulling each strap and it will slide up and down freely if in both groves.  After you sure they are in the groves then you need to PULL both very tight together using the Velcro to secure them.  If these straps are not tight because of the engine weight and the angles on the edges of the wooden base the engine on the base will be allowed to move.  When it does the angled edges of the base will lift the foam top that the engine will fly back and forth causing much damage as you saw on your first engine.  The second was cause by too much packing around the engine that took the weight of the engine.  (See Photo 9 attached)

7.  Put Color Box Lid on top.  There are to re-sealable circle stickers to hold the lid on.  They are located at the bottom of the color box on the ends. (See photo 10 attached)

8.  Put the packed color box in the  plastic bag with the instruction manual and then pack it with the foam packing and peanuts around the engine in the larger cardboard box it came in to ship it back.  (See photo 11 attached)

Instead of PDF files, might I suggest you insert the graphics into the post directly, makes it much easier to follow the descriptions and illustrations.

Thank you; since this is not an easy way of packaging and can cause damage (which it did) I hope MTH will not use this type of packaging for future releases.
