I don't see why your set up couldn't be modified to work.Nick
It looks like a good idea. Make sure you cut out enough area for some rocks and trees as the landscape will only make the scene that much better.
Yes it will work. Maybe you can add about 4" arc on the part you are lowering down, so it pops out from the bench work. It will break up the edge and the trestle will really stand out on the edge of your layout. Just my 2 sense.
Hi Lance,
Already expanding?
Where is the room entrance?
I would suggest to cut off the corner closest to your point of view in the picture. If you are going to take the time and effort to make a double track curved trestle, I would want it to be seen when you enter the room.
Check out Chugman's recent project and use 90° instead of 180°. It will have the same visual impact on a viewer. (or Ingenerio 1's monster)

I believe it would. It would be a pretty cool focal point on the layout.
Now to decide how to build it... I don't have a readily supply of balsa/basswood available locally so may look into Scenic Express system. Anybody have any other recommendations?
Lance,I ripped my own lumber on my table saw. However, there are a few things you will need first. You need this tool(see pics) to run the stock through the saw. There is a GRIPPER tutorial on youtube. You will also need a zero clearance blade plate on your table saw,you will need a HIGH QUALITY veneer blade also.I used Poplar 3/4 stock and oak veneer(1/8 "thick)for mine.It is available at HD.Good luck with your project.Nick

That should work just fine. Have fun!
