I am thinking about adding in a trestle bridge...well curved trestle. I am just wanting some opinions on if you guys think it would work well here. I'll post the picture below. In the pic you can see where I added on to the table. Well I would cut it out and drop it down around 15 inches and leave maybe about 5 inches on each side measuring from where the track runs on to the added piece of plywood (I drew in marker to show this). I would want it to run both tracks which are 054 and 042. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hi Lance,

Already expanding?

Where is the room entrance?

I would suggest to cut off the corner closest to your point of view in the picture. If you are going to take the time and effort to make a double track curved trestle, I would want it to be seen when you enter the room.

Check out Chugman's recent project and use 90° instead of 180°. It will have the same visual impact on a viewer. (or Ingenerio 1's monster)

This may be similar to what Rob is describing.NickOriginally Posted by Milwaukee Road Rob:

Yes it will work.  Maybe you can add about 4" arc on the part you are lowering down, so it pops out from the bench work.  It will break up the edge and the trestle will really stand out on the edge of your layout.  Just my 2 sense.

Lance,I ripped my own lumber on my table saw. However, there are a few things you will need first. You need this tool(see pics) to run the stock through the saw. There is a GRIPPER tutorial on youtube. You will also need a zero clearance blade plate on your table saw,you will need a HIGH QUALITY veneer blade also.I used Poplar 3/4 stock and oak veneer(1/8 "thick)for mine.It is available at HD.Good luck with your project.Nick
