is it a visionline? if so, I am behind the times.
The only thing "VisionLine" about the Allegheny in Lionel's 2016 Signature Catalog is the price. But the locomotive is missing all the VisionLine features.
Lionel blew it big-time on this one, because the company stepped over itself with other product offerings. More folks might have spent the extra couple hundred dollars for VisionLine features. But with street prices hovering around $1700-$1800 without VisionLine features, no thank you. In comparison, an equally stunning Lionel H7 with similar amounts of add-on piping detail (but admittedly not as much as the H8) can be had for around $1200-$1300 at several large dealers -- both the factory fresh model as well as the Harry Heike "weathered" model. I've been very tempted to get the latter while they're available at these prices. So why spend an extra $500 on the non-VisionLine Allegheny?
