I spoke with Bob from Dominion Models today and they will soon release a 1:43rd scale GM Futureliner in one of two versions, 3D Sound and Out of the Muddle. Arrival is expected in 4-6 weeks and the price is expected to be in the $ 150 range. This is exciting news for those who have been waiting for this one.

I'm very excited about this model.  Had no use for the 1/64 version.  I always wanted one in 1/18, when I cole tend in that scale.  The real Futureliners were 33 feet long, so they will look great in 1/43.  I'll display mine with the Train of Tomorrow and occasionally put it on a flat car.

This website says it will be in stock on April 1 >>link  So, find your favorite dealer and order...this will be a popular item.

I've always wondered where they stored them through the WW2 era up to in the 50s when they were worked on and toured again?

Would be funny to get one, place it out back of the gas station on my 1943-era layout, yank the wheels off and weather it like it'd been up on blocks since gas and tire rationing started...

Pretty cool I didn't know that these were being made!

I have watched several of the Norev 1:64 models on eBay, over the past couple of months, sell for over $100 (and these don't even open up).  The TSM model at $145 blows the 1:64 model away.

Definitely want to have one on my layout (okay, I really want 12, but you get what you can!)

Thanks!  Maybe others will carry it but they are a good shop, so I just put in an order.  Their site says I was order #53.

I think that it is actually rather ungainly looking - too tall to be sleek, etc., but it is so 1950s GM, and so, well, just 1950s, when the only thing better than big was bigger: B-36s, UP GTELs, etc.  Just wonderful!

One of what I believe to be of 9 of the twelve remaining sold at auction in 06 for 4.3 million. That was for it in original unrestored condition. Then it was sent out to be restored.

Then more recently it just sold again at auction this past January for 4 million. In fact this 4 million dollar rig received a huge police escort both to and from the auction site.
