Recently picked a #154 Lionel that I plan on keeping. This one runs but no way around needing resto. work. The motor is typical of a 150 humpback of the period. Gears, wheels, armature in good shape but what has me puzzled are two things: inside the cab paint and the roller P.U.
There is no doubt the pick up was replaced but...can someone give a time period when this p.u. would have been used? If close to the original period determines what I do with it...
The paint on the inside of the cab is olive green and shows signs of overspray from the outside (which is the typical green for that engine). My question is, did Lionel paint 154's in olive green originally?
