After 13 months away helping my brother after surgery, I finally made it back home late last week and found myself having to run to,the Scranton area Saturday morning, so I decided to drop in to Steamtown to see if the restored NKP PA was still on display. Unfortunately, it was not, but I was treated to a good bit of action. Seems like they were having a fan trip and the yard shuttle was running!!! So here are a few pics from my visit.
Reading Northern 2124.
Nickel Plate 759.
DL&W Switcher 426 (a 1935 prototype switcher from EMC, the predecessor of EMD).
CP 4-6-2.
Illinois Central 2-8-0.
Lackawanna F3’s 663/664 - formerly Bangor & Aroostook 504/506.
One of the Jersey Central coaches in the fan trip consist.
And a truly sad sight (CN 4-6-4T) #47.
Finally, a short video of Baldwin #26 passing the grade crossing in the yard with a caboose full of happy passengers!!!
