Will the PS2 G gauge board power these 2 8ohm speakers wires in parallel?? I believe the first one inside the shell is a Lionel Fatboy?

the one in the tank came from another engine

finally, look at the size of the tank and motor from a MTH VO1000 G gauge engine's smoke unit!

I'm expecting big smoke and long run times from this baby!

If memory serves the DCS board drives a 8 ohm speaker normally.

2 of them in parallel is 4 ohms and will smoke the sound chip.

You have room in the engine, Run the sound output of the PS2/3 board to an op amp and boost it for the second speaker. Put the op amp input and speaker #1 in parallel. This won't hurt the PS2 board as op amps have very high input impedance.

Power for the op amp needs to be dual polarity for best sound.

Russell,

The 5 volt board drives a 16 ohm speaker and should be able to handle 2 8 ohm speakers wired in series,

The 3 volt board drives a 4 ohm speaker should be able to handle 2 8 ohm spaekers wired in parallel.
