Its been a busy year, in a good way!, but there hasn't been much time for trains.  I've been able to tinker a little bit on my work bench and I have acquired a basement, but that's been about it.  I've really enjoyed popping on here from time to time (lurking that is, I don't remember when I last posted) and seeing all the amazing things you all have been up to as well as staying updated on all the new stuff coming out!  Its really been an exciting train year even from the sidelines.  I even have something on pre-order which I've never done before.  So thanks for keeping me in the hobby vicariously and Merry Christmas to you and your families!  I hope you all have a great new year.

Oliver,

Nice tree and train.

Your commentary on your year sounds a lot like mine, even down to waiting for my first ever pre-order.

Have a Blessed Christmas!

This year's Christmas photo album has been my favorite thread of the year! So many wonderful displays and creative layouts. Great job everyone and thanks for sharing.

On this Christmas Eve day, I wish all of my OGR train buddies a very Merry Christmas. Thank you for your friendship, technical expertise, fun discussions and fantastic photos and videos. You've inspired me to love trains even more.

Merry Christmas to all!!

I think it is super.  The Polar Express around the tree at table height is just the ticket.  The play pen around it should keep him out of trouble, or you can put him inside, and see how fast he can work over that tree.

Have a Blessed Christmas!

Very nice!!

Turn the volume down if you are going to watch this around the tree, PW 675 and 2356 flying around my 4' tree on Gargraves 031 and 042 track, video.  They're my childhood trains--the three aluminum cars are what my folks bought with the Southern AA's--much, much later I added the two other 2500 series cars not shown.  Fairness compels me to say that this is my first ever video, so I'm just at the start of the learning curve, and next year, God willing, I'll have a layout in my newly acquired train room.  Also, first ever use of unbonded "snow" and snow blanket materials.  Ballasting and bending Gargraves are much easier to do.

A few pictures from under our tree this morning.  The village sends a very Merry Christmas to all.

I didn't need to turn the volume down.............. but I was getting dizzy.......

After posting the video a couple of replies above, I emailed it to my sister.  Here is her reply:

Carl

Thank you for the wonderful present of the video.  It brought tears to my eyes remembering our Christmases with the trains.  I don’t know how Mom and Dad managed putting up a tree and setting up the trains on Christmas eve so it looked like Santa did it all.  Great memories – thank you.

Merry Christmas

Love Susan

Ahh yes trains in the crazy eye formation; always has been one of my favorite set ups. It keeps your mind turning. Reminds me of our 2013 display....

I have to agree with everyone elses sentiments; this has been a great thread to follow. Maybe better this year than years past. So many wonderful displays and layouts I wish I had the time to commend each one of you personally but then I wouldn't have the time to enjoy all the pictures and great videos.

Ken , the only thing that keeps me from wanting to jump into your layout to live there, is knowing I'd be stuck in a box most of the year.

Matthew....my daughter and I have wished many times of how cool it would be to shrink down and live in my village or some of the other villages here on the forum, but never thought about what happens after Christmas!  Living in box in cold attic in the winter and a hot attic in the summer for most of the year would not be fun!  You comment gave me a good laugh this morning!

For me, Christmas would not be the same without Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang!  Merry Christmas to everyone and Charlie Brown!!  Ken
