BEYOND COOL!
That is awesome!
Can only imagine the amount of maintenance that goes into that thing, has to be passion beyond pure railroading for sure. I especially like the caboose at the end you can sit in.
I wonder if he has traction tires. LOL.

That thing is large enough to have measurable tractive effort in tons. I believe the one in the video is 1-1/2" scale, making it 1/8 size.
This isn't the first live steam Big Boy I've seen. I think there's a guy in the Chicago area that has a 1" scale version. I saw that one in person a couple times, once when he brought it up to our local club, and once when I visited his home club in the Chicago area, on a tour during TCA convention.
There's a backstory on the you tube entry for this or related vids. Apparently associated with these folks.
You guys should look up the name "Tom Miller"out of the state of Oregon USA. He has built a big boy and others, and had a 20 acre piece of land with a RE covering much of it. I don't recall if his was 7.25 inch or 5.25....but he built everything he "played with" or ran, as they say. There still might be the YOUTUBE video around showing his amazing property and his talent!
