Got my ticket for the trip on the NS 26 coach.I see current railroading every day on my job,but steam engines are pretty much the only reason I am a train fan.
OGR Webmaster posted:You've got it, Jack. No 40 mph limit on these trips.
At our initial meeting with Metra, one of the first questions the VP of Operations asked me was whether we could run 79 mph. We likely won't go that fast, but 60-70 mph is a sure thing. 765 can finally stretch her legs a bit.
Now the question, what will be the speed limit while on the WSOR (after Fox Lake Ill.) to Janesville, Wisconsin.... I know when the WSOR and Amtrak ran the Mudslugs (a term many WOSR employees gave it) it never ran that fast.....
25 mph on the WSOR.
Thanks Rich!!!!!!!!
They were stuffing the superheaters back in her today when I was out at the shop. Looking good! I'm glad THEY know where all those parts go...
The hydro was successfully completed last Monday, so the superheaters can go back in now. Initial steam test planned for May 31.
