Ted , to get start menu and add 3d effects is there a free app ?

I was able to see where I could get 3d effects but couldn't find the falling snow effect.  ๐Ÿค”

Dallas, not sure all the 3-D apps/programs are the same.  Mine is under the PAINT', umbrella.  I don't see snow either... in mine... But, I know I saw it somewhere on my system....

Ted and Dallas...I found the "Paint 3D" app on the list of programs in Windows 10.  I was able to use the program "pencil" to create the white dot effect that Dallas used on my station pic.  Dallas, your realistic art work must have taken quite a while one dot a time!   To get the solid snow bank effect made up of hundreds of dots, is there a shortcut available in the program?

Not sure of a SHORTCUT yet Paul.

Enlarginging the photo to the maximum.......                      .........tape maybe 5 or 6 stylus together for the multitude of small dots.                                                           ..........one step less enlargement maybe the the same for slightly larger dots.                                                             ......,,,,,for last two steps down just use one stylus with random patterns......not too many.

OF COURSE...........you don't have to go wild with the snow like I did.

Tour in the Twin Bridges area finally done .

Time to catch the 10:05 back to the city.20211106_200320

Dallas, great capture of a busy night at the station...you hit the spot perfectly with the lighting.  I see some familiar train riders among the group!

I'll experiment with the snow "dots" when time allows...thanks for the follow-up info on the app...

Nice shot Dallas, And a much busier station than mine'.. ๐Ÿ˜ As far as the blue and violet colors, the only thing I can figure is, the yellow office lights and the green lights shining through from the cargo room created the hues... The pic was shot  in back lighted mode on a Samsung D300 miniature pocket camera that cost me $89.00 in 2013....

Greetings my fellow contributors'... Due to conditions and circumstances, I will be off line for some time. I'll be able to view, but not post.  If we could keep the thread going, that would be wonderful, and I sure will appreciate it very much'. So lets see more of your beautiful work.  Beginners and pros, all are welcome.  No nit picking on this thread'... I thank all of you for contributing'... All the best to you..' ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thank you Artie ,Patrick, Ted and Paul.  ๐Ÿค—   Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.๐Ÿ˜

The camera works it's own magic sometimes, very much how my brush does something good on a canvas when I  least expect it. ๐Ÿค”

.........AND .....then there are those little things that keep me from getting too great a feeling about myself ..............20211106_195244 If the passengers are going to catch the " 10:05 "  they are going to have a long wait according to the clock on the station. ๐Ÿ˜จ

I showed these other shots to my wife, and she yelled, โ€œyou have to put them on!โ€. So, hereโ€™s two more of my first experiments with this. First, at the oil depot, and a shot of the diner area at night.

Nice Artie.

Really great to have someone with good input.๐Ÿ‘     She seems to have a good eye for this kind of thing.

Hello Gents, I should be packing and dismantling the layout... and a 100 other related things.  Not supposed to be on the forum' ... Supposed to be taking care of  business..(CEO) orders'....๐Ÿ˜ˆ  Anyway, I can't resist the great posts.

Artie, thank you very much'...  I do have some current medical conditions that will require repair.  I just want to finish up this move, and than concentrate on that front'...

In the mean time, I received these remarkable photos from Rick Sutton, an excellent modeler and photographer. And a friend of mine.  I thought the guys on this thread would appreciate seeing his work.  Rick is a great guy and has authorized me to post his pics. I'll forward all responses to him.  You can also see his work on the MRH website.

Really good shot by your friend Ted.

A nice wide open feeling with the sheen on the roadway, the flood lighting in spots of the ground and building.   The warmer interior lighting of the building ,the reflected light on the wires and poles and the full moon.   Finally great vehicles and figures.                        All nicely balanced .

Can't ask for a better night layout photo........nice. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Really nice looking low diffused light on these before sunrise and for the night shift scenes Randy.  ๐Ÿ˜Ž

If I may ask , how did you achieve the low light and still show the action so well ?

Nice ๐Ÿ‘

Wow, someone likes bikes and beer'...๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿบ.. Nice shot Dallas'...โœ”๐Ÿ‘

SADDLE UP.......

........it's really late now guys and gals.......if we really move we can get back home in time for breakfast . ๐Ÿž๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ›20211117_074058

Dallas, great scene!  The parking lot gravel looks like the real deal!  By the looks of things, business is pretty good at the bike shop  The lighting effects are just right...

Nice scene ,,,,,,,,I  guess ??? ๐Ÿค”                                              just when I was thinking of getting out tonight and heading down Main Street .............well..........maybe stay in and have a cold one and a couple pieces of pizza.

Dallas, no serious injuries at the scene...the biker had a few scrapes but the ambulance is taking him to the hospital to be checked out.  First responders came in force just in case?  The guy in the '55 on it's side is feeling no pain at all....
