Farmerjohn, just for the record, those are amazing pictures and they look very Real, thanks for posting. Your lighting is perfect, the angle gives the scene an enhanced persona and great depth. Your train world is simply amazing. Wow…
One of the best things about our hobby is getting the opportunity to visit friends in the hobby, and Pat at Harmonyards allowed my wife and I share some time on 9-11 at his nice home in North Carolina. The following pictures are from “The Harmon Shops” layout. You’ll see a beautiful millhouse turntable, a great track plan, a wonderful experience. Thank you Pat, your layout is a masterpiece. Happy Railroading Everyone.

A couple of great guys enjoying a great day involved in a great hobby.
Farmer John that's one incredible river scene. Does that dam generate any electricity or is it for flood control only /

I agree 100%, Joe! @leapinlarry thank you for showing the photographs of you and Pat at Pat's layout! Both you and Pat are great guys in the hobby!
Paul Estep (first name taken from my last living uncle who sadly passed away recently) is taking a rest next to the Hunter, TN depot. Boots, his beloved hound, is taking up the entrance to the small depot, requiring everyone else wait outside for the last evening train to Elizabethton.
Meanwhile down near Sadie, Mister Grindstaff is waiting to be able to close up for the evening

Lee, what great photos! You sure know how to take them and bring them to life!
Patrick, love your photos and your new moving picture, but I think the guys got a little stage fright and none of them were moving!
FarmerJohn, Outstanding photos and I hope you have fun at York. Never been but maybe one day, its a long drive from Wa.
Larry, I always love it when you start a story on how you and the wife got to visit a masterpiece layout, cause If you think its amazing I know its going to be great after looking at all the photos of your layout !
Coach Joe. Yes the dam is mostly for electricity production mush as a lot of the dams in Tennessee and Eastern KY were which were built during the war effort of the early forty. You'll notice on my dam their is only two turbines which is probably more than they had but served the purpose. Oke ridge Tennessee depended on these small dams to supply there needs.

@lee drennen, Great picture! I am sure all of us feel like that sometimes working on our layouts! LOL
@farmerjohn, Amazing photo of your dam and wonderful story! We use to have many here in Wa. but some have been taken down for Salmon spawning!
Farmer John I had been preoccupied with your dam and downstream river and failed to realize that as a powerhouse located to right of the spillways.

The dam and river do steal the show, don’t they?

FarmerJohn, If your dam is serving Oak Ridge that must be Heavy Water flowing. Better cut back on the turbin output as the lights look a little to bright or is it like running an 18 VAC Lionel engine on a 22 VAC MTH transformer? Regardless you have done a great construction job.
@trumpettrain, great photo, but I am thinking Farnsworth better get back to work soon! From the looks of his statue he has had plenty of time to have more then 3 squares a day! LOL
Thanks for all the great comments on my dam and river. It's little things like this that make a layout fun for me but even better when others enjoy it also. My next dam feature is going to be a bigger style which will be by my oil refinery. This area still needs a lot of work but I guess that's the fun of it. Ill post some pictures when started.

Thank you @mike g. ! Yep. Old Farnsworth has never missed a meal or a snack, for that matter.

Amazing structural maze John. It looks more organic than man made . 👍
What in your estimation is the square footage of this beauty ? 🤔
Dallas Joseph.
I built my house with my basement in mind for a train layout. There is 2650 Sq feet in the basement with it dedicated to my trains. I estimate the layout is about 2200 Sq. Ft . Big project but a lot of fun . Thanks for asking.
I love the air strip. Are hangars in the future plans or is it just a strip that serves the refinery across the river?
Great Photos everyone!
@farmerjohn, your layout room is just amazing and I love your airfield, Now that I see a bigger picture of it I am going to have to scratch build a radar tower! LOL
Here is my offering for today.

Mike, that is really something! Looks and operates great! Can't go out and buy one of those off the shelf, what a well thought out and executed project. Can't wait to see it on your layout.
Thanks guys, I had the runway under the layout, I built it about 3 years ago and was going to put it on top of my mountain but it took up so much room. Then I seen FarmerJohns runway and plane, thought I should work on something with it. It's all done by trial and error, more error then anything! LOL Now I have to wait for a new model plane to arrive so I can build one that will fit in on my time era and not military! I am working on trying to find different gears to make it take off faster!

IMHO Mike........it sure has been a lot of work and wizardry but it does look really cool. 🤓
Just make sure you have room for emergency and fire vehicles nearby in the event of engine failures. 🚑🚑🚔🚒🚒
Mike, the plane taking off looks great!
Pat, the PA is sporting one of the best paint schemes.
Denny, the yellow belly looks great!
Coach Joe
Yes I intend to build a hanger for the runway with taxi ways. The area at the end of the runway will be redone to accommodate this rebuild.
Mike. I really like how you've done you're runway and the plane taking off. Man you've done some brainstorming. Most of all you've applied it . I love it.
Mike what a great module you've put together. While the takeoff speed may be a bit slow for the Blue Angels I think it'll look fine with a non-military plane of an earlier vintage.
