@farmerjohn , Wow, your artistic ability coupled with the beautiful trains you run is simply amazing. Your buildings against your back wall look great, also I see the Chicago & North Western Diesel fits nicely in your lash up. Great pictures… I’m out in California now, but spent 3 days with Captain Will Porath (@Will2926). I took him the UP-Boy Scout Lionel VisionLine ES44 DieCast diesel, and the cars. We had a ball. This is the picture of Wills layout. Happy Railroading Everyone IMG_2155IMG_2156IMG_2152IMG_2150IMG_2157

A winter scene on one of my Christmas layouts.  I say this everytime that I show it but I just have to: that big red, metal, lighted train was a Christmas gift from my sister, a mere 4 months before she suddenly and unexpectedly passed away.

Therefore I treasure it and try really hard every year to find a place for it on the layout.

I tried an experiment with the mirrors to see if it made the scene look bigger.  Not a great result.

WOW great photos guys!

@walt rapp your night Christmas scenes are just wonderful! You could make it Christmas year round!

@Sitka Mark you had to be in the right place at the right time to catch that wild stallion trying to beat the Iron Horse!

@trumpettrain Patrick, sometime your guys on the MOW crew work to hard! I think they might have earned a eatra day off with pay!

@farmerjohn John I think the buildings look perfect! Nice work, its funny looking at your layout one would think it cant get any better, then BOOM there you go making it even better!

@leapinlarry Looks like you and @will2926 had a fun time! He really had a nice start on his layout. It looks like they were in the process of installing a TT! I hope you stuck around to help them out!

As for me guy I have nothing but a smile on my face from all the wonderful photos you all have shared!

Thanks for the comments  everyone. Leapin Larry hope you have fun on you're California  trip and thanks for posting Wills layout. As yall know I really like bridges. Here is a pic of my latest which was made by ideathinker. He can build about anything you can imagine. Trains are so much fun when others enjoy them also.20241010_205817

Thanks @mike g.  I try, not always very successfully, to take an overall night shot every year.  I don't have an expensive camera so I settle for what the cameras I own can do.

Here's one from my 2013 Christmas layout as example of what I mean that I try to take a night shot every year:

z - Night From Hall Low Angle

These 2 are examples of my favorite type of night picture.  I had an SLR film camera to shoot these but no longer own a camera that takes exposure timed images. These are from different years

Morning guys I hope your all doing well!

@farmerjohn John you have one of the most beautiful layouts and your mining area is just a small part of something that is just amazing! I am so thankful that you let me see it in person! I hope to make the trip again one day to see your layout again and make the trip to see @leapinlarry Larry's layout!

@walt rapp Walt he has been posting for as long as I can remember, between here and other threads here on the forum!

🤓 .............Farmer John ......I.....aaaah.........??????

......excuse me...I'm trying to find the appropriate appreciative words in my dictionary to describe this scene on your layout.

Thank you.

Dallas, I tried to count the number of street lights he has installed in this scene.  I can't seem to do it as I keep losing count along the way.  It sure is one heck of  fantastic layout.  Should be featured in all the model train magazines...

I agree.

Maybe we could print this scene on a large 18×24 inch sheet to get a count on the lights .

It sure is quite the amazing scene Farmer John has assembled.
