@Dallas Joseph - I'm imagining that you love this scene with the model of your "CEO" in it! Nice picture.
There was a lady, trainsformations, years ago that would custom make figures. I had her make figures for all 28 of my family members and she nailed all of them. The one of my father (RIP), when my sister saw it, she cried - that's how perfectly it was made.
That's how I know you love that scene of yours.

@Dallas Joseph - here's a shot of my Mom and Dad and the model of their house that I made. That Nash was the car that they owned when they bought the house in 1954.

Boy, your sister's response expressed more than words ever could.

Amazing modeling Walt. Like seeing all your examples .

Thanks Mark. Gotta keep busy ( working x π ) playing on the layout.
Here's my entry for today - a candy train. I hosted the 'Train Party' for all 28 of my local family members for 24 years and when kids started arriving I began making a candy train every year. I thought it would make for a fun time grabbing stuff from train cars instead of bowls. they actually started asking each year if I was going have one!!! I liked that.

Good friend Steve Maier and I were on our way to Trainstock several years ago and spent the night near Roanoke. Visited the VA Transportation Museum on our way north. 1st time for me and was great meeting the club members and several of you guys face to face. Sunday we headed to the city and I really enjoyed Steve's vast knowledge of NJ and downtown Manhattan!
The last time I had seen 611 was many years ago (30 perhaps?) in Chattanooga when my boys were little. We stayed at the 'Choo-Choo' and 611 was there preparing for a trip the next morning. I met a medic from New England who was part of the crew and was firing her up the evening before. He invited me up in the cab and we talked. I really appreciated him doing so.
She pulled out on time with 23 mixed passenger cars in tow. Sure wish I had had a camera to catch her crossing one of those beautiful bridges!

C.Sam, How fascinating it must have been getting a tour inside the cab of that fabulous locomotive. Incredible'..
continuing with the candy train idea from a few posts above, some more images of candy trains that I made each Christmas for my grandkids, nieces and nephews to enjoy.

FOR TODAY: Laying over for tonight. Crews from different railroad layover for the night. Several games of poker will begin in about a half hour. Bunky and Chester have both brought a wad of cash and plan to go home with an even bigger wad. Time will only tell.

night scene showing 4 of the 6 model houses that I built, along with a special Miller's sign - he wasn't going to make the Westinghouse 'W" sign due to lack of info and I was really disappointed. So I did bunch of research, including photos and facts about the sign, mailed it to him, and he landed up making the sign and giving me one as a thank you.

The bridge in a later post is unique. I've never seen one like it before, model or prototype.
@Jim Teeple - I don't know how I missed seeing posts of your beautiful modeling in the past, but the last few weeks I have been admiring them so much. When I have time I'm going see if I can find older posts of yours.
thank you for posting images of models that you made. Truly inspiring to a person like me who also enjoys making models.

Here's my picture for a day. I made a model of my parents' house in Port Vue. I found a model of the car that my Dad owned when we moved into that house. There was a lady (trainsformations) that used to make models of figures given a picture of the person. I had her make a model of every relative that I had at that time. There are 6 more in later years.

The model of my Mom and Dad are near the front of the car.

Very cool Walt! What scale is this great display... Those Nash autos later becoming Ramblers, were very popular in their day... My Mom had a brown and tan two tone. I used to wax it for her'...
Here is an O scale model of my house the way it was built in 1929 .
built using individual coffee stir sticks for the siding , Roof and porch floor .
Still working on a way to simulate the original slate roofing .

Jim, your house is fantastic as well!
While on the subject of models of our houses, I will post some photographs of my Boyce 'homestead' as I remember it in about 1960. Besides me, my dad, and grandpa also grew up there. Grandpa was born there. The first part of the house dates back to 1888. I estimated the dimensions from photographs I took in the late 1980s, and then backdated to my memory of about 1960. I will also add that I built it in N scale since that is the scale I was modeling at the time.

Wow Mark N scale! Nicely done! My first interest in trains many years ago was N scale, thatβs when the eye sight was much better. Now I use a magnifying head band with O scale, go figure.π³

Thank you, Gene! I do still dabble with N scale. Yes, at 68 my eyes arenβt what they used to be. You have to have a very different approach to the large difference in scales. π₯Έ
